Paladea is an extremely potent witch capable of dishing out huge damage with her high crit rate and her high firepower abilities, like Black Bullet can deal up to 1960% of Paladea’s ATK and hit for even more as this ability guarantees to be a critical hit after leveling her up. She also reduces her opponents' CRIT Res with this ability, as well as dispel 2 buffs from the targets, opening them up to more crits and disrupting the buff aspect of their game plan.

Finally, she can make herself and up to 3 more Chaos allies with the highest ATK all the more tanky, as she'll grant them 3 Multi-Barrier stacks at the start of the battle, and one more for every crit she lands.

Black Flames of Justice

Witch of Justice

The first two of these skills deal high damage to multiple targets while the third enhances Paladea's damage output by increasing her chance to crit. These three skills go hand-in-hand together. Black Flames of Justice will reduce the crit res of all targets by 40% while Witch of Justice will increase her own crit chance for every crit she and her team deals. Finally, Bullet Storm will chunk foes down even more, especially when it turns into Black Bullet, which deals a ridiculous 1760% (+200% if she has her UW) of Paladea's ATK when fully upgraded, as well as dispels 2 buffs from the targets.

The weaknesses of these abilities are multi-barrier to negate her high damage attacks, evasion units for the same reason, and high CRIT Res to slow down her ramping crits, which will also delay when she can use Black Bullet. Moreover, the CRIT Res debuff from Black Flames of Justice can be dispelled.

Supreme Commander

Supreme Commander is a strong defensive ability that lets Paladea start a battle with 3 layers of Multi-Barrier, protecting her from high-damage burst attacks that would've taken more than 20% of her health. This ability also grants a layer of Multi-Barrier to the allied Chaos unit (or up to three Chaos allies when leveled to 221 and above) with the highest ATK for every time that Paladea deals crit damage.

The way to beat this skill is to prevent Paladea from landing critical strikes, either through your own Multi-Barrier, Evasion, or CRIT Res. Characters like Luke can also do well against this skill, as she can go through shields.

【Witch of Justice】Paladea Hard Counters

Luke

Luke is an extremely good counter against Paladea. She has a built-in 60% chance to resist crits, and even shares it with an adjacent ally, lowering the chances she'll tank crits as well as slowing down Paladea's Black Bullet and her production of Multi-Barriers for her Chaos teammates.

While Paladea can remove this with her CRIT Res debuff, that's something you could cleanse. However, what makes Luke great against an opposing Paladea is her ability to bypass her Multi-Barrier, making easy work of Paladea and her allies.

Gil’uial

Gil'uial may be far from the best debuffer in the game, but she's exceptional against certain matchups like Paladea. Like Luke, she has high CRIT Res thanks to her passive, and can also dispel the Multi-Barriers Paladea's high ATK teammates receive her Supreme Commander passive. She'll stay in the fight longer with her own Multi-Barrier to start the match with, and she'll silence Paladea and her teammates too.

Paladea is usually paired with other Chaos units like Armstrong who also have powerful active skills.

Fenny

Fenny is great against Paladea because her Jamming Scattershot skill can reduce Paladea's Chance to Inflict a Debuff by 50%, which brings Paladea's odds of inflicting the CRIT Res debuff down to only 20%.

It's worth noting that Paladea is faster than Fenny by default, so make sure you SPD-tune Fenny to inflict the debuff before Paladea can cast her Black Flames of Justice skill.

Luke's Legion of Non-Limiteds

Luke will start the show ignoring shields and barriers while dealing heavy buffed attacks thanks to Merlyn, who will also dispel her of any debuffs. Mimi will inflict resonance on the opponent's tankiest and squishiest units, as well as being a secondary DPS threat. Nina will steal the opponents' buffs (but not their non-dispellable Multi-Barriers) as well as reflect back any debuffs they hurl, all while being naturally tanky and evasive. Finally, Fenrir will lower the cooldowns of Nina and Luke, allowing them to cast their skills more often.

This team, other than Luke, are all non-limited SR units that can easily be acquired in the game.

Anti-Crit Rusalka and Cerberus Comp

Rusalka and Cerberus are Radiance units, which deal increased damage against Chaos units like Paladea, but also receive increased damage from them as well. Rusalka is good against Paladea comps because she's durable thanks to her revive mechanic and Multi-Barriers, resistance to crits, AOE damage debuffs, and high damage and SPD. Cerberus is also good in this matchup, as she attacks multiple times in a row to wear down Multi-Barriers as well as deals big damage, all while cleansing herself of debuffs or granting herself debuff immunity, which helps against Paladea's CRIT Res debuffs. She can execute opponents who are below a certain threshold, making their Multi-Barriers even less useful.

And then we have Fenny, who can prevent Paladea from inflicting her CRIT Res debuff entirely if SPD is tuned properly, hindering her from growing in power by landing CRIT strikes.

As for the supporting cast, Merlyn will increase both Cerberus' and Rusalka's damage output while also cleansing them of even more debuffs if anything goes through. Primavera is a witch who can fit in most comps, as she grants team-wide ATK and SPD buffs while being able to inflict Fainted on opponents, which is one of the strongest debuffs in the game.

Witches Not To Use Against 【Witch of Justice】Paladea

Amleth

Amleth's bread-and-butter ability is how she can be invincible at 1HP when her health bar depletes for 3 turns while dealing high damage. One of the most obvious strategies to defeat her is by dispelling her invincibility buff, which Paladea can do by herself.

Cordie

One of Cordie's biggest weaknesses is her ineffectiveness against Multi-Barriers, which Paladea often has lots of layers of, especially when things go her way and she lands multiple crits. Paladea will be able to block Cordie's damage while Cordie will find it hard to survive Paladea's heavy hits.

Summer Cordie

Summer Cordie serves a niche role of helping her teammates be more accurate, but the catch is she also makes her opponents more accurate as well. While this is a fairly good counter against evasion units, you don't want Paladea becoming more accurate and possibly landing more crits, as this is where her power comes from.

Tips for Beating 【Witch of Justice】Paladea

Prevent Her From Landing Crits

Evasion, Multi-Barrier, and CRIT Res are the tools you'll need to defend yourself against Paladea. Her power comes from landing crits, so you'll want to prevent that to keep her from growing in power, casting her Black Bullet, and granting her team more Multi-Barrier layers. You'll also want to dispel/cleanse her CRIT Res debuff, as this will make you vulnerable to her crits.

Tailor Your Offense Around Beating Her Multi-Barriers

You'll want attackers who strike multiple times to wear down her Multi-Barriers like Cerberus. Alternatively, you can use Luke to go through the barriers entirely and deal big damage.

Use Radiance Units

Radiance units are weak to Chaos units and vice versa. Look to use strong Radiance units to defeat Paladea like Cerberus and Rusalka.

However, make sure you strategize accordingly, as Paladea packs quite a punch, and she'll deal even more damage against your radiance units too. Look to bolster your defense with runes, defensive supports, or other means like having good gear sets.
