List of Contents
If you want to show off your neat character designs, or if you want to get inspiration for your characters, feel free to use our sharing board!
There are 4 types of Lineages you can choose from: Elf, Qunari, Human, and Dwarf. In the character creator menu, you can randomize the appearance of these lineages.
Lineage | Descriptions |
---|---|
Human |
An ambitious and prosperous people. Humanity's various kingdoms are the ascendant powers of this age. |
Elf |
Descendants of an ancient, fallen empire. Pushed to the margins in the past, some elves are building a brighter future by exploring their civilization's lost wonders. |
Dwarf |
Clever and tough in equal measure. Dwarves cannot dream or wield magic, but possess a mysterious and ancient bond with the earth. While dwarves cannot use magic, their combat skills are feared across Thedas. |
Qunari |
Feared and envied for their size and strength. Some Qunari follow a strict philosophy from their homeland, while others joined different cultures generations ago. |
Race plays into the immersion of the game, setting the tone on how the world interacts with the player. Apart from the variation in appearance, the only major difference between races is how dwarves cannot be mages to remain lore accurate with dwarves having no connection to the Fade.
Humans have average builds and height, and Elves have notably pointy ears and are commonly thin in stature. Dwarves appear short and stout, and Qunaris are characterized by their horned appearances.
Depending on the lineage you have chosen, you can customize how they look. You have the option to change their head shape, body shape, along with their complexion and facial features!
All Classes | ||
---|---|---|
Warrior |
Rogue |
Mage |
Warriors are played in melee range, able to parry attacks and pull enemies close. Rogues are versatile in both melee and ranged combat, able to cut enemies up close or shoot them from afar. Mages primarily attack from a distance, able to destroy or control large groups of enemies at once.
There are 3 classes available for your character: Warrior, Mage, and Rogue. Choose whichever class fits your playstyle!
All Factions | ||
---|---|---|
Grey Wardens | Veil Jumpers | Shadow Dragons |
Lords of Fortune | The Mourn Watch | Antivan Crows |
Picking a Faction will decide the Rook's last name and their backstory, as well decide which faction-exclusive shop will be available in your playthrough. Each faction has their own set of traits, providing passive abilities such as increased resource gain or increased critical and weakpoint damage.
In character creator, you can choose the playstyle difficulty you want for your gameplay. Your playthrough can range from being focused more on the story or tough enough to challenge your skills!
Difficulty Levels and Playstyles
At the end of character creation, players can edit the world state by determining the characterization of the Inquisitor and the fate of the Inquisition from the previous installment, Dragon Age: Inquisition.
The Inquisitor's appearance, lineage, and love interest can be tailored to the player's liking, and the Inquisition's fate can be chosen to have been disbanded, or absorbed by the chantry. Moreover, players can direct the Inquisitor's goal to either stopping Solas' plans, or saving him from his convictions.
Players are free to redesign their appearance in the Mirror of Transformation. All physical features, name, and voice may be edited upon the player's discretion; however, the Rook's class, faction, and lineage cannot be changed in the mirror.
