    Ok so you don’t need to hit him at beginning but the second time at the end when he comes swimming towards you

    You actually only need to hit it with one fluff fruit. Don't worry about trying to hit it when it wakes up. Hit it with one when it flies in front of you, between the lantern and golisopod.
