Hysilens is one of the best DoT units to be released in the game. Her ability to debuff enemies and deal DoT DMG makes her a great upgrade for DoT teams.
That being said, we only recommend getting Hysilens if you also have, or are planning to pull for Kafka to deal the most damage possible. Without Kafka, Hysilens cannot contend with other high tier units.
Hysilens' Light Cone, Why Does the Ocean Sing, provides Effect Hit Rate and can increase the enemy's DMG received from DoTs. This also provides a SPD increase that can be used by other allies when they attack an enemy.
While this is Hysilens' best-in-slot Light COne, you can consider skipping this for other Light Cones like Eyes of the Prey or any other DoT-related Light Cone. Instead, we recommend getting her E1 as this provides a better DMG increase for Hysilens.

Hysilens is best built as a DoT DPS with ATK and Effect Hit Rate stats.
Since Hysilens' kit is all about DoT, Prisoner in Deep Confinement and Revelry by the Sea is her best Relic setup for overall DMG as a DPS.
| Stat | Recommended Value |
|---|---|
| Effect Hit Rate | 120% |
| ATK | 3600 (during combat) |
| SPD | 129 SPD (with Why Does the Ocean Sing LC) or 135+ SPD 1 SPD higher than Kafka |
Hysilens needs at least 120% Effect Hit Rate to fully activate the DMG buff from The Fiddle of Pearls Bonus Ability. Hysilens will also need 3600 ATK to get the full DoT buff from the Revelry by the Sea ornament.
Hysilens should have at least 135 SPD to achieve more turns in a cycle, or her SPD should be +1 faster than Kafka's. It's better for Hysilens to have 135 SPD since this gives you more potential ATK% substats on your relics that will let her deal more DMG.
If you have Why Does the Ocean Sing, you can set Hysilens' SPD at 129 since she can get the other SPD stats from the Light Cone.
| Trace | Priority & Explanation |
|---|---|
| Basic Attack | ★★★☆☆ - Medium Priority Hysilens' Basic Attack should be upgraded last since most of her DMG comes from the rest of her kit. |
| Skill | ★★★★☆ - High Priority Hysilens' Skill can increase the DMG taken by enemies. Upgrade this after her Ultimate and Talent. |
| Ultimate | ★★★★★ - Highest Priority This increases Hysilens's Ultimate DMG and the debuffs it provides. Prioritize this along with her Talent. |
| Talent | ★★★★★ - Highest Priority Hysilens's Talent should be upgraded as soon as possible for her DoT DMG. |

Serval
|
Asta
|
Lynx
|
For a free-to-play team, you can pair Hysilens with Serval since the latter can apply the Shock DoT. Asta is a great free-to-play Support for her ATK and SPD buffs.

Hysilens
|
Kafka
|
Ruan Mei
|
Huohuo
|
This Hysilens team has her paired with Kafka. Both of them can help deal damage by applying DoTs and triggering them respectively.
Ruan Mei is the best Support here since she can delay the enemy's Weakness Break recovery, allowing them to receive more DoTs. Huohuo is the best Sustain for this team since she can buff the party's ATK and restore their energy.
You can also slot in Robin instead of Ruan Mei. The ATK buffs Robin provides may be diluted in this kind of team, but her team-wide turn advance is very useful for cycle-based game modes.
| Alternative | Explanation |
|---|---|

Black Swan
|
Huohuo
|
You can also use Hysilens on a team with two other DoT units. A third DoT unit can provide extra damage and help Kafka trigger more DoTs with her kit.
Black Swan works best here for her Arcana mechanics and the DEF reduction she applies on enemies.
| Alternative | Explanation |
|---|---|
Jiaoqiu | DPS Replacement Jiaoqiu can inflict Vulnerability on enemies and has his own DoT. Best used if Jiaoqiu is at E2. |
Guinaifen | DPS Replacement Guinaifen can inflict Burn on enemies and she can increase the DMG taken by enemies with Firekiss. |

Hyacine | Sustain Replacement Hyacine can be used as an effective healer and can provide supplemental DMG with Little Ica. |
Gallagher | Sustain Replacement Gallagher is the best 4-star Sustain for Hysilens since he provides healing and is SP-positive. |
