Should You Pull for Blade?

Blade is an amazing damage dealer who's tailored more for AoE damage. He also does not need to use a lot of SP, which makes your team comps more compatible with units who want to spam their Skills. Get Blade if you need a great AoE damage dealer!

This Blade build focuses on increasing his HP% and CRIT Damage to make the most out of his abilities and Traces.

Blade's damage scales better with HP% than ATK%, so try to get HP% stats when you can. Blade should have at least 50% CRIT Rate to activate the Inert Salsotto's effect, which should be easily achieved thanks to his CRIT Rate traces and the Longevous Disciple relic set.

Blade's Best Team

Blade F2P Team (Free to Play)

Sub-DPS DPS Support Healer
Star Rail - BladeBlade Star Rail - Dan HengDan Heng Star Rail - AstaAsta Star Rail - LynxLynx

This Free-to-Play Blade team will focus on keeping Blade alive and enhancing him through buffs. You can replace Asta with Pela as another 4-star alternative since Blade will do more damage with Pela given that his damage doesn't scale that well with ATK% buffs.

Lynx can heal Blade and increase his chances of being targeted by enemies, which will allow him to use his Follow-up Attack more frequently.

Blade Hypercarry Team

DPS Support Support Healer
Star Rail - BladeBlade Star Rail - SundaySunday Star Rail - Ruan MeiRuan Mei Star Rail - LuochaLuocha

This Blade team comp is focused on enhancing Blade to become the Hypercarry of the party. Ruan Mei DMG buffs and enhanced Break Efficiency and keep your team SP positive while Sunday focuses on buffing Blade through his Skill and Ultimate.

Luocha is a great healer here because of his synergy with Blade's self-damaging mechanics. Lynx can be a 4-star alternative as she can increase Blade's chances of getting hit with her Skill, allowing Blade to use his Follow-up Attacks quickly.

Alternative Explanation
Star Rail - BronyaBronya Support Replacement
Bronya provides turn advance and DMG buffs with her Skill.
Star Rail - PelaPela Support Replacement
Pela works great with Blade since she's able to apply AoE Debuffs on the enemy by reducing their DEF%.
Star Rail - SparkleSparkle Support Replacement
Sparkle can advance Blade's turn and provide CRIT DMG buffs through the use of her Skill.
Star Rail - Silver WolfSilver Wolf Support Replacement
Silver Wolf can inflict multiple debuffs on an enemy and implant a missing weakness.
Star Rail - LynxLynx Healer Replacement
Lynx can use her Skill to heal Blade and increase his chances of getting hit, which allows him to dish out his follow-up attack sooner.
Star Rail - BailuBailu Healer Replacement
The Alternative 5-Star Healer if you don't have Luocha.
Star Rail - NatashaNatasha Healer Replacement
A F2P healer alternative that's good enough to heal the entire party.

Blade Sub-DPS Team

Sub-DPS DPS Support Healer
Star Rail - BladeBlade Star Rail - JingliuJingliu Star Rail - Ruan MeiRuan Mei Star Rail - LuochaLuocha

Given that Blade is pretty much a self-sustaining damage dealer that specializes in AoE damage, he can be paired with an additional damage dealer that specializes in single-target damage!

Alternative Explanation
Star Rail - JadeJade DPS Replacement
Jade can use her Skill on Blade to drain his HP and help him dish out his own Follow-up attacks at a faster rate.
Hunt or Destruction
Characters
DPS Replacement
All Hunt and some Destruction path users are tailored to dealing Single-Target damage. Slot who you can into this role!
Star Rail - BronyaBronya Support Replacement
For this team, we recommend Bronya to be at least Eidolon Level 1 for smoother rotations with her Skill Usage. Bronya can give an extra turn to either Blade or another DPS and can increase the entire party's CRIT DMG.
Star Rail - RobinRobin Support Replacement
Robin can increase the party's DMG. Robin can also advance everyone in the turn order after using her Ultimate.
Star Rail - WeltWelt Support Replacement
Depending on your team comp, you can even slot in Welt as a support or third DPS unit if you're able to balance the team's SP generation.
Star Rail - YukongYukong Support Replacement
Yukong's Skill can increase the damage of both Blade and the other DPS.
Star Rail - HuohuoHuohuo Healer Replacement

Star Rail - BailuBailu Healer Replacement
The Alternative 5-Star Healer if you don't have Luocha.

The go-to F2P healer alternative.

Inert Salsotto Inert Salsotto ★★★★★ - Best
Inert Salsotto is Blade's best overall Ornament. It also greatly outperforms Rutilant Arena if Blade has higher Eidolon levels.
Rutilant Arena Rutilant Arena ★★★★☆ - 2nd Best
Rutilant Arena is technically the go-to Ornament if you want Blade to deal the most damage. However, you need to consider if the amount of time it takes to farm a new Ornament set is worth it over a minimal damage increase.
Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm ★★★★☆ - 2nd Best
Izumo Gensei is best used when Jingliu is on Blade's team. This gives a huge CRIT Rate boost to Blade.

Star Rail - A Secret Vow Light Cone A Secret Vow ★★★★☆ - Great
A Secret Vow is Blade's best 4-star Light Cone at S5. It flat out provides more damage (at S5) than the Event Light Cone even if Blade's HP% is higher than the enemy.
Star Rail - Ninja Record - Sound Hunt Light Cone Ninja Record - Sound Hunt ★★★★☆ - Great
Ninja Record: Sound Hunt is a great Event Light Cone that provides Blade with CRIT DMG. The Light cone can out-damage an S4 Secret Vow (if the current HP% of an enemy is lower or equal to blade).
Star Rail - Flames Afar Light Cone Flames Afar ★★★☆☆ - Good
A decent option for Blade if its at S5. Only slightly behind the Event Light Cone.
Star Rail - On the Fall of an Aeon Light Cone On the Fall of an Aeon ★★★☆☆ - Good
ATK buff is negligible, but On the Fall of an Aeon provides a DMG boost when Blade inflicts Weakness Break on an enemy.

Blade's E1 is a very good Eidolon that greatly increases his Ultimate's damage.

Do Not Pair Blade with a Shielder

Star Rail - Blade

Blade's Talent ability requires him to either take damage or consume his own HP to build up charges. Having a shield prevents him from taking damage, so avoid pairing Blade with characters from the path of Preservation like Gepard or March 7th.

Use His Ultimate to Consume or Heal HP

Star Rail - Blade

Along with dealing damage, Blade's Ultimate has two core functions. One of them is for reaching max Cap of 90% total HP loss for increasing the damage of his Ultimate. The other is for using it as an emergency tool to bring him out of the brink of death.

Blade main here, run him with Bronya and Sparkle/Robin/RuanMei/Sunday when he's released with Gallagher or luocha with quid pro quo so you never run out of sp for bronya and Sunday sparkle robin etc only basic attack with Gallagher or luocha, Gallagher gives +2 sp with good ult timing ult after basic attacking. Run 136 Blade with -2 bronya or 97 Blade with 160+ bronya or 101 Blade with 99 bronya. For autobattle run luocha not Gallagher and only 1 advancer with either Ruan mei or robin.

209 Anonymousabout 2 months

No, Bronya is still best for Blade, but only when played as hyperspeed and SP is used every turn. The damage difference is quite close though.
