Follow the quest marker and head down the elevator, where a dialogue with the Blighted Warden will start. Regardless of the choice made, a fight with the warden will occur immediately after the scene. Remember to examine the room after the fight for a memento and a rune before proceeding.
Continue onwards until you reach the Profane City Approach, where more blighted wardens and darkspawn lie in wait. Players may choose to ignore them and head towards the Profane War Room, destroying blight connected to two cysts along the way.

First Warden: Rook, I'm never to be rid of you. | |

The feeling's mutual. | Davrin approves |
Are you serious? | No approval changes |
Upon entering the Profane War Room, a dialogue with a blighted First Warden will initiate. His mental state will differ depending on your choice to punch or reason with him back in Weisshaupt.
If players chose to punch him, his mind will descend to insanity, thinking that he's still in the original Weisshaupt. If he was reasoned with instead, he will provide tips on how to defeat the Gloom Howler. Either choice will lead to Davrin enacting euthanasia on the First Warden.
Should You Punch or Reason with the First Warden?
Attempting to cross the blight bridge will cause it to break, forcing the party to traverse the Darkspawn Dungeons below. Players may feel free to ignore all darkspawn and head straight to the final room, as the cysts along the way are not required to unlock the blighted gate. Upon arriving at the final room, the entrance will close, and the door will be free for breaking after clearing all the darkspawn in the area.
One of the cells in the dungeon houses a chest containing the Reforged Bulwark, a shield for Davrin.

Upon exiting the dungeon and arriving at Garahel's Point, clear the blight abscess on the left wall and pop the cyst to activate the ladder. Climb the ladder and enter the city to arrive at a blighted gate locked by a cyst.
Eliminate the cysts on top of the wooden platform and behind the wall, then clear the cyst in the center. Destroy the blighted gate to enter the Profane Library and fight Isseya.

Isseya is immune to damage until the blight cysts in the area have been destroyed. A cyst can be located on either side of the room, and the central cyst comprises of 6 different entities compiled together.
Once the cysts have been destroyed, attack Isseya until her health reaches 75%. Her HP is protected by a barrier, hence, it is recommended to attack her with ranged attacks first before unleashing skills and triggering detonates.

After Isseya retreats upon reaching 75% health, head into the next section for her 2nd phase. Destroy the cysts on the left, center, and a cyst hidden in the right corner of the room. Deplete Isseya's barrier and damage her health until it reaches 50% to enter her final phase.

Destroy the blight walls on either side of the room to enter the final area. Destroy the cysts on the left and center, the two cysts on the far right side of the room, and the bundle of cysts surrounding Isseya. Defeating Isseya will continue the quest with a dialogue cutscene between her, Rook, and Davrin.

The conversation with Isseya will end the events in Profane City. The quest continues in an immediate dialogue cutscene in Arlathan Forest, where the griffons have been liberated from Isseya's custody.

Davrin: No doubt. | |
Choice | Consequence |
Become sentinels of nature. | You've decided the griffons should help protect Arlathan. |
They belong with the Grey Wardens. | You've decided to return the griffons to the Wardens. |
A major choice will occur with Rook deciding the griffons' fate. Either choice will grant Davrin the Hero of the Veilguard status, unlocking his Veilguard skill and award a set of Legendary Armor.
Note that the skill unlocked and armor acquired will differ depending on the choice selected.
