A Friend in Need Objectives

Assist Davrin and Assan

Upon starting the quest, follow Davrin to Eldrin's hut. Wait for Assan to open the gate and head inside, where Eldrin lies in wait. A dialogue will occur after speaking with Eldrin. He will inquire about Rook's attitude towards hallas, and will give Rook the opportunity to make a remark about Davrin's and Assan's relationship.

Collect a Marpel Tree Branch

Follow the quest marker to arrive at the Tainted Woods. After crossing a wooden log beam, interact with the tree surrounded by an orange glow straight ahead, and pick up the branch with a blue glow after the prompt.

Gather Vanerberries

From the tree, head right and cross the shallow lake with an Evanuris Altar stationed. Gather all three vanerberries indicated by the quest marker to progress the quest.

Gather Stone Root

Head up the wooden platforms to find the three stone roots. Hit the bombs situated above the wall to shatter it and reveal a hidden Fen'Harel Altar. Head inside the doorway in the altar room to open a small chest containing a Sharpened Hook Knife trinket for Davrin.

Place the Supplies

Continue following the quest mark to climb across a wooden log beam once more and slide down a slope.

Upon arriving at Cliffside Pass, head down the overlook and place the supplies beneath the giant tree, where a memento can be found nearby. Return to Davrin on the overlook to signal the Halla's call.

Davrin Commitment Conversation

If players have not selected their romance partner yet, a dialogue prompt will appear that allows Rook to commit to Davrin. Selecting "I want to be with you" will lock Davrin as Rook's romance option, and all instances of flirting and romance dialogue not directed to Davrin will be removed for the rest of the playthrough.

Return to Eldrin

Hop down the overlook and follow Davrin towards Eldrin's hut, unlocking a gate that shortcuts to the Hidden Grove in the process. A conversation with Eldrin will occur, expressing his surprise at Assan helping a halla.

Near the end, players can comment on whether or not anything is capable to change, or are simply enslaved by their own nature. These choices will not affect approval, and players are free to select whichever option they'd like.
