Slaying the Fangscorcher Objectives
Get to the Fangscorcher's Lair
Follow Taash
After opening the gate to the Deep Woods, follow Taash until they start investigating debris. Climb the ledge left of the area to proceed.
Get to the Top of the Building
Head upwards, climbing the staircase and crossing the beam. Continue onwards, until you spot a lit cave near a ladder. Enter the cave to reach the upper areas and cross the second beam. A treasure chest can be opened at the top, by the northwest corner of the wall.
Get to the Fangscorcher
Defeat the Antaam
Follow the path after exiting the building to enter the Enchanted Courtyard area. Defeat the horde of Antaam stationed inside. A treasure chest can be found at the center, by the sculpture of a pair of hands.
Investigate the Area
Investigate the table by the southwest corner to open a note. Taash will comment on how the Antaam is responsible for blighting the dragons. Enter the door to enter the Burnt Village, where a confrontation with the Fangscorcher will occur soon after.
Find a Way to the Fangscorcher
After a short cutscene with Fangscorcher, destroy the wooden boards and crates on the left and enter the Hazardous Passage. Once the Antaam appears and be blasted by Fangscorcher after, head left and slide down the nearby slope. Enter the large open space to fight the Fangscorcher.
Defeat the Fangscorcher
How to Beat the Fangscorcher
| Dragon Attacks | |
|---|---|
| Swipe | Does a quick swipe with either its front or rear legs, depending on your position. |
| Headbutt | Quickly snaps its jaws as if taunting before lunging forward to try and slam down its head on you. |
| Body Slam | Flies up and briefly charges before brining itself down with force, affecting a large area |
| Breath Attack | Has a Fire breath. Launches a fireball from its mouth. Can occur when grounded or in flight. |
| Tail Swipe | Swings its body in a 180-degree arc to try and hit you with its tail. |
| Charge | Briefly winds up before charging at you in a straight line. |
| Fireball Rain | Fires a stream of fireballs towards the sky and rains it down on the battlefield. |
| The Tail Swipe and Breath Attack are the only attacks you can block, unless you're playing the Champion Specialization with Inspiring Guard. | |
Fangscorcher has a similar moveset from the other High Dragons, apart from its distinct Fireball Rain move.
Weakpoints constantly shift between its front legs, hind legs, and its head as the fight continues. When staggered, Fangscorcher will not be susceptible to takedowns, but will be knocked down and have a weakpoint on its heart that receives significantly higher damage.
