If you decide to leave the Mayor during the events of Shadow Crossing, A Growing Corruption quest will appear in the Arlathan Forest later in the story. Otherwise, this quest will not appear if you decide to save the mayor.
Should You Free the Mayor or Leave Him?
A Growing Corruption Objectives
- Destroy the Corruption at Ruins Reach
- Follow the Trail to Find More Corruption
- Destroy the Corruption by the River
- Defeat the Blighted Mayor
Destroy the Corruption at Ruins Reach
Fast travel to Arlathan Forest and go to Ruins Reach. You will see a glowing red corruption that you must destroy. After destroying the corruption, interact with the branch to start the quest.
Follow the Trail to Find More Corruption
Follow the objective marker to find more trail and enemies on the way. You will eventually see a long red corruption trail leading to a wall. Destroy the corruption around the area and investigate the body by the tree branch.
Destroy the Corruption by the River
Keep following the objective marker and you will see more corruption by the river. Destroy them while defeating the enemies. Once you defeat them, interact with the branches.
Defeat the Blighted Mayor
Keep following the objective marker until you see a circle shaped corruption on the ground. Interact with it to make the Blighted Mayor and other enemies appear to fight you. Defeating him and the other monsters will complete the quest.
