The Wandering Wight may be one of the early Spirits that you will obtain in the game, but you may still see yourself using it during the middle or even the late stages of the game.
Its head smash move is an area-of-effect attack that can stun enemies and even bosses, including the larger ones, which makes it generally useful in any boss fight.
Additionally, equipping it will give you a defense boost, which can help you take more hits.
Using Guangmou's Spirit will make it summon snakes in the field, which will attack and poison their targets.
This can be useful as a source of additional damage over time once your target is poisoned, as you also barrage the enemy with your own attacks.
The Mother of Flamlings' active move makes it spawn Flamlings on the field, which will attack enemies. Similar to Guangmou, this can be useful as a source of additional damage.
More importantly, equipping Mother of Flamlings will reduce the cooldown of all spells, which can be very useful for those who heavily rely on Immobilize, Rock Solid, and the like.
The Gore-Eye Daoist's Spirit will make it summon a staff that emits a red aura. Standing near this staff will boost your offense, which can be particularly helpful if you tend to stick close to your targets or when fighting in tight spaces.
Furthermore, equipping this Spirit will give you more mana to use, which can be helpful if you constantly use your spells.
The Poisestone's effects when it is equipped will increase the damage of jumping light attacks and decrease the stamina cost of sprinting, which is helpful for those who tend to move around and use those kinds of attacks.
The only caveat to equipping Poisestone is that its active skill is not useful in combat.
Verdant Glow won't help you in your offense, but it can definitely be useful for health recovery.
Equipping it alone will give you slow health recovery over time, while its active skill, although it will make you immobile as it makes you transform into a plant, will heal you without using your Gourd.
The Red-Haired Yaksha's passive effects when equipped increase the damage of heavy attacks, which synergizes well for those who tend to use these attacks while in Pillar or Smash Stances.
Unfortunately, its active move is a long-ranged attack with a slow windup, although it can be useful if you use the move far away from a target.
The Tiger's Acolyte is a great Spirit to use for those who want to go full offense. Its active move has a slow startup, but it can kill weaker enemies in a single hit.
Its passive effect, when equipped, increases your critical damage, which can help you deal steady damage even while charging up your Qi.
Non-Void's active skill will make you leap backwards and avoid attacks. This can be used as an alternative to Cloud Step when you want to equip Rock Solid as your Alteration Spell instead.
Apramana Bat's gust attacks can freeze enemies in place, which can be useful for crowd control. Unfortunately, it does not have any passive effects, so you will not get as much use from it while you are charging up Qi.
The Lantern Holder Spirit isn't as impactful in combat, but its passive effect while equipped is what makes it very useful.
Simply selecting Lantern Holder will help you get more Will from killing enemies, which can be handy if you want to quickly farm Will.
Transformations are different from Spirits, as they are full-blown skills where you take the form of a boss that you've previously defeated and get access to their attacks and moves, rather than just a one-time move like what Spirits do.
Additionally, these transformations are more focused on offense, rather than utility that Spirits generally offer.
