How to Beat Cloudy Mist, Misty Cloud

Cloudy Mist, Misty Cloud Strategy

Avoid Cloudy Mist's Ice Beam

Cloudy Mist will start the battle by sweeping the player with a beam of ice. He will do this twice in a row so dodge by rolling through the beam's direction.

Use Cloudy Mist's Flash to Attack Misty Cloud

After losing a quarter of his health, Cloudy Mist will stick his staff into the ground and perform a flash, revealing Misty Cloud's location. Run away from Cloudy Mist's staff to avoid the flash then attack Misty Cloud while he is blinded.

You can use Immobilize on Misty Cloud to keep the stun from wearing off right away.

Cloudy Mist and Misty Cloud's Team Combos Can Be Predicted

Cloudy Mist and Misty Cloud will be switching out in turns for most of the fight but there are some moves where they will attack as a pair. Use visual and audio cues to predict their moves.

'One, Two—' '—Three, Four, Five' Combo

Cloudy Mist and Misty Cloud have a two part combo that starts with Misty Cloud asking 'Monkey, Monkey! Where is he?' and swinging his torch two times. Cloudy Mist switches in to answer with 'My eyes are on him!' and will rapidly fire three consecutive beams. Afterwards, Misty Cloud will switch back in and swing down on the player.

The combo will then repeat, this time with Misty Cloud counting 'One, Two', swinging his torch on each count. Cloudy Mist will replace him, announcing 'Three, Four, Five!' and fire his ice beams again. However this time, Misty Cloud will finish the combo with an overhead swing which will cause patches of ground to explode.

Projectile Combo

After Cloudy Mist unleashes a projectile attack, Misty Cloud will appear in from of him and swing his torch twice on the player. Be ready to dodge to the sides.

Heavy Swing Combo

Cloudy Mist will do two heavy swings, but do not attack him right away since Misty Cloud will jump down on the player. Luckily, Misty Cloud is blind and cannot aim correctly. After dodging his initial attack, reposition yourself and attack Cloudy Mist.

Defeat Cloudy Mist First

Misty Cloud is blind and relies on Cloudy Mist for his sight. Once Cloudy Mist is defeated, Misty Cloud will be easier to beat since his moves are slower and much more predictable.
