Black Myth: Wukong can be preloaded starting August 18, 2024, 48 hours before it launches on August 20.

Steam Version Available for Purchase but Not for Preload

While there is currently no news about when you can preload the game on Steam, you can still purchase the game if you want. Along with this, they have also released the Benchmark Tool to check if your PC is compatible with the game.

Xbox Version Will Release at a Later Date

Despite the initial announcement during The Game Awards from 2023, Black Myth: Wukong will not have its August 20, 2024 release date for Xbox Series X/S. Microsoft has stated that the cause of the delay is optimization issues.

1 Open the PlayStation Store and search for Black Myth: Wukong.
2 Select Pre-Order then Proceed to Checkout. Next, Confirm Pre-Order in order to succesfully pre-order the game.
3 The game should start downloading shortly after confirming your purchase.

Black Myth: Wukong - Preload on Steam 1
Search Black Myth: Wukong in the search bar on the top right. Select the game to proceed to its page.

Black Myth: Wukong - Preload on Steam 2
Select either of the two editions and click Add to Cart. In the next screen, select Purchase for myself.
3 Afterwards, choose a payment method and confirm your purchase.
4 After you've successfully pre-ordered the game, you can preload it from your library by selecting the Preload button when it becomes available.

From the Xbox Store (At a Later Date)

1 Open the Xbox Store and search for Black Myth: Wukong in the search bar.
2 Select Pre-Order then click Buy at the order summary in order to succesfully pre-order the game.
3 Go to your Library and select Black Myth: Wukong. Select the Pre-Install button to begin preloading.
4 If it says Manage instead of download, select it and choose which parts of the game you wish to download.

Otherwise, you can find the game by selecting “My games ＆ apps” on the home screen, then open Full Library.
