Long ago in Yellow Wind Ridge, two mountain deities gained immense power by consuming a great yaoguai’s inner pill. This transformation gave them human forms and hearts, and in gratitude, they used their new strength to make the mountain flourish.

They are known as Mother of Stones and Father of Stones.

One day, a wounded and tattered-clothed girl stumbled into Yellow Wind Ridge, seeking refuge in a rock guai’s cave. The Father of Stones initially intended to expel her, but seeing her pitiable state, he allowed her to rest.

The girl prepared a delicious meal that softened the Father of Stones' heart, leading him to permit her to stay. For two years, they lived in harmony, with the stone deity providing ingredients and the girl cooking.

Before the Son of Stones could succeed as a mountain deity, his mother, Mother of Stones, unable to leave Yellow Wind Ridge, sent him alone to search for his father. But unfortunately, he went east instead of west and ended up at Mount Huaguo.

Initially, Son of Stones searched each mountain for his father, but Mount Huaguo's many delights distracted him. He became particularly fond of a cricket named Feng-Tail General, spending his days watching it leap and forgetting his mission entirely.
