The Scorpionlord Strategy |
---|
|
The Scorpionlord is a tough boss due to its aggressiveness and high damage output. To counter this, you can play aggressively and use all your abilities to stagger it. Combining these staggering tools with the A Pluck of Many spell allows you to quickly drop the boss's health as your clones attack the stun-locked Scorpionlord.
A fully upgraded Immobilize spell provides an excellent opportunity to reposition and set up a staggering Light Attack combo finisher. It's most effective when used while the Scorpionlord is mid-attack, triggering the bonus damage from Evanescence.
The Unveiling Strike from the Cloud Step spell not only deals substantial damage but also staggers the Scorpionlord. Early in the fight, it's best to use this primarily for its stagger potential while your A Pluck of Many clones are active. Later, use it to escape dangerous combos from the Scorpionlord.
The Wind Tamer Vessel releases a powerful wave of energy when activated, staggering the boss and providing an opportunity for a short combo or more attacks with your clones.
Wind Tamer Vessel Effects and How to Get
A hard-hitting Spirit Skill, such as one from the Wandering Wight or Tiger's Acolyte, can easily stagger the boss, helping to reduce its aggression and turn the fight in your favor.
Performing a Resolute Strike with the Resolute Counterflow skill just before getting hit by an attack negates damage and easily staggers the foe. Pair this with Skyfall Strike for additional damage and stagger potential.
Resolute Strikes require a Focus Point and are executed by using a Heavy Attack during a Light Attack combo. This move, along with the Resolute Counterflow and Skyfall Strike skills, is part of the Smash Stance skill tree.
The Scorpionlord is one of the most challenging bosses up to this point in the game, so it's wise to use important consumables to aid in the fight once you're a bit more comfortable with the fight and the strategy. Amplification Pellets, Enhanced Tiger Subduing Pellets, and the Longevity Decoction are all consumables that should help you in the fight as they boost your Critical Chance, Attack, and Health, respectively.
