How to Beat Zhu Bajie

Zhu Bajie Strategy

Stay Aggressive and Use Spells in the First Fight

Zhu Bajie is a relatively straightforward boss. To defeat him efficiently, focus on maximizing your damage output with spells.

Begin the fight by casting A Pluck of Many to summon clones. When Zhu Bajie is about to start an attack, use Immobilize to stop him in his tracks. After he recovers, use Cloud Step to stagger him again, then follow up with a powerful Spirit Skill. To finish the fight, use a Transformation Spell for a final burst of damage.

Stay Aggressive in the First Phase and Defensive in the Next

Since Zhu Bajie first phase in the second fight fights similarly to your first encounter against him, focus on getting through the first phase quickly. This phase is more aggressive, leaving fewer opportunities to land hits. Use spells like Immobilize, Cloud Step, and A Pluck of Many to quickly transition to the second phase.

In the second phase, Zhu Bajie's attacks become more predictable but remain challenging to dodge. Pay attention to the end of his combos, where he'll often stop and lie down in his boar form, giving you a clear chance to strike back. Prioritize dodging his powerful attacks to take advantage of these openings.

Run Backwards Before Dodging the Rhino Charge

When Zhu Bajie transforms into a rhino and charges at you with two clones, run backward to create distance and observe their movements. This will give you more time and space to assess where the clones are charging, making it easier to dodge.

Jump to Dodge the Big Catfish Slam Shockwave

One of Zhu Bajie's hardest-hitting attacks is his catfish transformation which does a powerful slam that generates a large shockwave. While dodging is an option, it's easier to jump over the shockwave to avoid taking damage.
