All Spell Transformations

Transformations List

Spell Transformations are semi-permanent transformations that lasts for a short period of time. These makes you transform into a boss that you've defeated before and you'll be able to use their moves and attacks.

Ashen Slumber	Transform into a rat guai, slashing at the enemy while blowing fierce flames at them, inflicting Scorch Bane. How to Unlock: Defeat the two-headed rat and interact with the NPC behind a house in Chapter 2 and progress through the Pagoda Realm quest in Chapter 3
Azure Dome	Transform into a stone monkey, gaining boosts from debuffs and retain access to spells. How to Unlock: Reach the secret ending
Azure Dust	Transform into a rock guai, immune to all Four Banes. It builds up Might when hit. How to Unlock: Complete the Man-in-Stone quest in Chapter 2
Dark Thunder	Transform into a horse guai, immune to Thunder Damage, inflicting Thunder Bane on the enemy. How to Unlock: Meet the Horse Guai from Chapter 1 to 5
Ebon Flow	Transform into the Yin Tiger to ward off incoming blows by holding the sword horizontally, or dash forward like a gale to close in on foes. How to Unlock: Reach the Zodiac Village and defeat Yin Tiger
Golden Lining	Transforms into Yellow Loong, gaining immunity to Shock and ability to see through the enemy. How to Unlock: Defeat Yellow Loong in Chapter 4 after defeating all Loong bosses
Hoarfrost	Transforms into Monk from the Sea, weaving strikes with a blizzard's grace and launching attacks that inflict Frost Bane. How to Unlock: Defeat the Monk from the Sea in Chapter 3
Red Tides	Transform into a wolf guai and inflict Scorch Bane on the enemy with each attack. How to Unlock: Defeat Guangzhi in Chapter 1
Umbral Abyss	Transform into the Macaque Chief, immune to Frost, wielding a longsword that unleashes Frost Bane. How to Unlock: Complete Chapter 3
Violet Hail	Transform into a worm guai, immune to Poison, inflicting Poison Bane on the enemy with each attack. How to Unlock: Defeat Daoist Mi in the secret area in Chapter 4

Spirits List

Spriit Transformations, on the other hand, are those that only last for a single move. Activating these requires Qi, and you need to capture the essence of bosses or regular enemies to use them in battle.

Story Transformations

Cicada

During Chapter 1, the Destined One will be turned into a golden cicada to sneak around the area and avoid combat. You can exit the transformation if you want to fight the enemies in the area, but you won't be able to turn back into being a bug.

How to Get Transformations

Get Weapons or Valuables from Bosses

Certain bosses will drop their weapons or valuables once you defeat them, granting you the skill to transform and fight like the boss for a short period of time.

Once you use a transformation, you will get access to unique light and heavy attacks and a special attack once you fully charge your Focus meter.

Transformations Overview

Transform into a Boss for a Short Period

Transformations allow you to take the form of certain bosses over a short period of time. These transformations will let you use unique attacks, which can be helpful in tight combat situations.

The Transformation spell has a long cooldown after it is used, so it is recommended to only use it when fighting tough bosses.

Different from Spirits

Do note that Transformations Spells are different from Spirit Spells, which unlock a single move rather than a full-blown transformation.

Spirits are unlocked after capturing the essence of certain bosses, and they let you take the form of the respective boss and execute a single move.

Duration Relies on Health and Might Meter

How long you can stay transformed depends on your health while transformed or how much is left in your Might Meter. Both of these are displayed on the lower left side of the screen.

Your health will decrease whenever you get hit by an attack, while your Might Meter will slowly decrease over time or whenever you execute an attack. If any of these run out, you will transform back into a monkey.

You can also de-transform if you want to end your transformation early with the same button input as when you transform into a boss.

Attacks Build Up Focus

Similar to your regular form, attacking while you are transformed will build up Focus, which is displayed on the lower right side of the screen.

Once you fully charge up your Focus meter, you can execute a powerful Full Focus attack. These attacks vary from one Transformation to another and can have different command inputs.

Change Transformation at Shrines

You can change your equipped Transformation skill in any Shrine.

Offer an incense at the Shrine, select Set Spells, and choose the last node to change to any of the Transformations you've unlocked.
