Black Wind King is easier to beat if you obtain the Fireproof Mantle after defeating the secret boss, Elder Jinchi. It's best to keep your distance and dodge his attacks, and save your Transformation and Spirit for the second half of the fight.

Black Bear Guai is the final boss of chapter 1. Equip the Agate Jar curio to help boost your defense, and during the second phase, use the Fireproof Mantle to grant you temporary Burn Immunity.

These are the four optional bosses that can be found in the chapter 1 area. Wandering Whight and Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang are two optional bosses that provide Spirits upon defeating them.

Despite being encountered in the chapter 1 area, The Red Loong can only be fought after you obtain an item in chapter 2.

Elder Jinchi is a secret boss in chapter 1 that can be fought after ringing the three bells scattered throughout chapter 1.

Defeating Guangxhi, an easier boss nearby, unlocks a transformation that can be useful in fighting the Wandering Wight, thanks to its solid moveset, high damage output, and ability to tank a few hits. The Immobilize spell is an important tool to upgrade as it gives you an opportunity to fight back and another chance to stagger the boss.
