How to Beat Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master

Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master Strategy

Attack Along With the Sisters

Once the fight starts, the sisters will attack the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master for killing their mother, which is the Violet Spider, so the boss will be busy fighting them instead of you.

Use this time window to deal damage using spells and attacks.

Stun It With Spells and Heavy Attacks

The most frustrating thing about fighting the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master is trying to damage it. You can only damage it by hitting its legs or centipede body, however, it constantly moves them, making it extremely difficult to actually hit it and deal damage.

The best strategy against the boss is to stun it using spells and heavy attacks. Spells like Immobilize and Wind Tamer can stun it for a decent duration, allowing you to freely hit it.

On the other hand, while your spells are on cooldown, hitting the boss with heavy attacks will disorient it for a while and deal decent damage.

Round Around the Arena When It's Burrowed

The Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master will occasionally burrow underground, making it impossible to hit, and perform special attacks that deal a lot of damage. Once you see it burrow undergound, just run around the area and dodge its attacks until it resurfaces.

Watch Out for Its Grab Attack

The Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master has a devastating grab attack that it can perform while burrowed. It will charge at you, and if it catches you, it'll perform the grab attack, and you won't be able to escape. Just keep your distance from the boss whenever you see it charging.

Watch Out for Its Lightning Attacks During Its Second Phase

When the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master's HP gets low enough, it gets more powerful and will perform lightning attacks. Fortunately, these attacks are quite slow and telegraphed via animations and visual effects, giving you a chance to anticipate and dodge them.

Once you see the animation and visual cues, prepare to dodge, then get in a few hits in between.

Move Away When You See It Charge

The Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master also has an area attack that deals a ton of damage. It does this by first charging up, then unleashing a quick explosion around itself. Once you see it charge up, move away from it quickly to avoid getting hit by the explosion.

Perform a Well-Timed Dodge When Rock Levitate

Another one of the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master's area attacks is when it causes rocks to levitate, then slams them to the ground, dealing damage in a wide area. It's very difficult to just relocate to avoid this attack, since it's quite fast and covers a very large area of the arena, but performing a well-timed dodge can do the job.

Run Around or Dodge the Lightning Bolts

One of the Hundred-Eyed Daoist Master's notable lightning attacks is when it vanishes, summons lightning bolts at your position, then reappears and slams the ground.

Once it performs this attack, just run around the arena to avoid the lightning bolts, then dodge its attack when it reappears.
