Erlang Shen

Erlang Shen and its second form becomes available only after completing the game for the first time. To find him, return to Chapter 3's Pagoda Realm and head to the Great Pagoda Keeper Shrine.

Climb the stairs and speak with the Bodhisattva Maitreya, who will unlock a secret passageway. This leads to a hidden area called Secret: Mount Mei, where Erlang, The Sacred Divinity, will be waiting for you.

Fight Him Again After the Four Heavenly Kings Battle

Black Myth Wukong - Erlang Shen Second Form

After defeating Erlang, The First Divinity, you’ll face the Four Heavenly Kings. Once you’ve overcome them, you’ll encounter Erlang Shan again, this time in his second form.

How to Beat Erlang, The Sacred Divinity

Erlang, The Sacred Divinity Strategy

Stagger Him With the Help of Your Clones

This is the first form of Erlang Shen. Your main objective in this battle is to deplete the boss's posture bar, located above his HP bar. Attack continuously to drain the bar, causing the boss to stagger and become vulnerable to multiple hits.

Use the A Pluck of Many spell to create clones, which can help you land enough hits to stagger the boss and deliver critical damage.

Avoid Using Transform

Refrain from using the Transform spell in this battle, as it will be ineffective. Erlang, The Sacred Divinity, can dispel the transformation, reverting you to your normal form.

Bring Shock Quelling Powders

Erlang’s attacks are lightning-based and can inflict the Shock status on your character.

It is recommended to stock up on Shock Quelling Powders to remove the Shock effect and mitigate damage during the fight.

Deflect His Sword Attacks

When Erlang starts to float, he will unleash a barrage of swords. You can deflect these by holding the deflect button, avoiding damage and maintaining your position in the fight.

Study His Attacks and Counter Effectively

Erlang has many long attack strings, making it risky to attack between them. Instead, study his attack patterns and counter effectively after his moves finish.

Use Cloud Step and Rock Solid to escape if you get trapped during his combos.

Fight Him in Your Stone Monkey Form

Stone Monkey

The second battle with Erlang Shen takes place after defeating the Four Heavenly Kings.

By this point, Erlang Shen will have transformed into a mighty lion, while you will be in another form as well, the Stone Monkey.

Learn His Moves and Counter Effectively

Since this fight isn’t scripted, you can die and will need to restart if you do. By this point, you should have the best equipment at your disposal, including soaks, vessels, and medicines.

Don’t hold back, use everything in your arsenal to unleash your full potential.

Erlang Character Lore

The Noble Vanquisher of Demons

Erlang Shen
Erlang, or Erlang Shen is a god associated with justice and righteousness, as well as water and subduing demons. He is often referred to by his more popular name Yang Jian, the Nephew of the Jade Emperor, and is accompanied by Xiaotian Quan, the Howling Celestial Dog.

In Journey to the West, Erlang leads a celestial army, along with the Four Heavenly Kings, to subdue Wukong.

Out of all of Wukong's adverseries, Erlang Shen is the only god who comes close to beating him, with the Monkey King only escaping these bouts using his cunning and intellect. He is also able to see through Sun Wukong's disguises using his Third Eye.

This guide is full of mistakes: 1)He is accessible before finishing the game 2)Transformations are not useless, he will dispel them only if he manage to hit you with his tiger form and after an hit he will come back to his human form 3)His element changes basing on the bane you inflict on him, but he starts with the shock element And this is only about the first fight...

He is not Lion, his 2nd form based on Tibetan Mastiff
