Feng-Tail General Can Be Found in Foothills, Mantis-Catching Swamp

Feng-Tail General can be found in Foothills, Mantis-Catching Swamp. You need to use the Somersault Cloud spell to search the area and actually find the boss.

The Fight is a Quick-Time Event

You don't actually fight the Feng-Tail General when you encounter it. Instead, you'll have to do a series of quick-time events to beat it. The goal isn't to kill the boss but to take its antennas, which becomes the Golden Feng-Tail Crown headgear.

Equip Items that Increase Burn Resistance

Recommended Items

We strongly recommend to equip the Fireproof Mantle vessel, Flint Vanguard spirit, and Flame Orb curio before encountering the Feng-Tail General. They significantly boost your burn resistance, which is crucial to beat the boss.

Max Out Your HP Stat

We also recommend to max out your HP stat via the Self-Advance and collecting or making Celestial Jade Pills since the Feng-Tail General will burn through your HP during the quick-time event.

Use Somersault Cloud to Land On Its Head

To start the quick time event, you need to land on its head since you need to interact with its antennas. The only way for you to get on top of its head is to use the Somersault Cloud spell before going near the boss, then just simply land on its head.

Once you're on top of its head, interact with its antenna to start the quick time event.

Hold the Required Button to Clutch

Once the quick time event starts, you just need to hold the required button to clutch. There are only two (2) stages to this event; the first stage consists of the Feng-Tail General leaping three times to certain locations, the second stage is just you trying to remove the boss' antennas.

However, in the second stage, your HP will slowly burn away while you're attempting to remove the antennas, which is where the recommended items we metioned above and maxing out your HP comes into play.

Repeat the Process If You Fail

In the event that you failed the quick time event, you can always repeat the process until you're successful. You just need to find the Feng-Tail General again to retry.
