Old Rattle-Drum Quest Guide

The Old Rattle-Drum is a side quest located in the Yellow Wind Formation in Chapter 2 of Black Myth: Wukong. Read on to learn how to get and use the Old-Rattle Drum, as well as where to find the Mad Tiger boss.

How to Get the Old Rattle-Drum

Defeat the Tiger's Acolyte

To get the Old Rattle-Drum, you will need to beat the Tiger's Acolyte. He can be found near the Windrest Hamlet Shrine. Starting from the Shrine, just head straight and follow the path until you reach a bridge where you'll see the Tiger's Acolyte.

The Tiger's Acolyte has relative low HP compared to other bosses but deals high damage. Moreover, you can fall from the bridge and die, so be careful of moving close to the edges of the bridge.

How to Use the Old Rattle-Drum

Only Used in 3 Locations

The Old Rattle-Drum can only be used in three locations. You'll know when you're in the right spot when the screen desaturates and you get a prompt to use the drum.

Windseal Gate, Yellow Wind Formation

Starting from the Windseal Gate, Yellow Wind Formation Shrine, just head straight and follow the path, then cross the rope bridge. After crossing the bridge, go to left side where there are logs and enter the area there.

Upon entering that area, your screen will turn grey. Keep exploring the area until you're prompted to use the Old-Rattle Drum.

Afterwards, the corpses in the area will become alive and attack. Just defeat them before going to the next location.

Windrest Hamlet, Yellow Wind Formation

Starting from the Windseal Hamlet, Yellow Wind Formation Shrine, turn around, follow the path downwards, and enter the village. Once inside the village, head to the left side until your screen turns gray, then use the Old Rattle-Drum when prompted.

Afterwards, the corpses in the area will become alive and attack. Just defeat them before going to the next location.

Village Entrance, Sandgate Village

Starting from the Village Entrance, Sandgate Village Shrine, cross the bridge, then head towards the right side and enter the village. Once inside the village, just stay close to the left side and follow it until you see an opening to a large area, which is where the Earth Wolf boss is located.

Upon reaching the area, head towards north where a shrine is located, enter the shrine, then move towards the left side that leads to an area. Go further into the area until your screen turns grey, then use the Old Rattle-Drum when prompted.

If you've defeated the Earth Wolf and opened the gate there before getting the Old-Rattle Drum, you can just head straight into the area using that gate instead of going inside the village.

A cutscene will trigger that reveals a well, which is where the Mad Tiger boss is located.

Beat the Mad Tiger to Complete the Quest

Afer the cutscene, just head down to the well, and beat the Mad Tiger boss to complete the quest.
