How to Beat Emerald-Armed Mantis

Emerald-Armed Mantis Strategy

Conserve Your Spells Before the Second Phase

The Emerald-Armed Mantis has two phases: the first is a standard boss fight, and the second begins when he drops to 75% HP.

During the first phase, he primarily attacks with his claws and stinger, so it's wise to conserve your spells until the second phase.

Attack When His Claws Are Burrowed

A good strategy is to dodge his attacks until he burrows his claws into the ground. He won't be able to pull them out immediately, giving you a perfect window to strike.

Save your spells during the first phase and focus on this tactic instead.

Faster and More Dangerous at 75% HP

Once the boss reaches 75% HP, he becomes significantly faster and gains new attacks. He can slice swiftly and multiple times, so you'll need to be extra cautious.

In this phase, make frequent use of your Immobilize spell to halt his movements and capitalize on your attacks.

Stunlock With the Fan and Summon Clones

One of the best strategies is to stunlock the mantis using the Plantain Fan Vessel. Since the battle area is small and enclosed, you can trap the mantis by pushing him against the walls with the fan's hurricane effect.

While he's trapped, use the A Pluck of Many spell to summon clones. With the mantis stunned by the hurricane, you and your clones can unleash a flurry of attacks.
