Venom Daoist Strategy |
---|
|
During the first fight with the Venom Daoist, you'll want to make sure that you destroy all of the arms on its back. Doing so will grant you the Venomous Armguard after the fight ends.
If you don't do this, you won't get the drop, and you'll need to wait until New Game+ to fight him and try to get this armor piece again.
All Missables and Points of No Return
The Venom Daoist has a variety of dash attacks that can take you by surprise. Fortunately, there are visual and audio cues that telegraph the attack. Once you observe these cues, just do a well-timed dodge to avoid it. You can also use Rock Solid instead to counter it.
The Venom Daoist has an attack where it jumps up in the air, then thrusts the ground with its weapon. After performing this attack, the boss will pause for a while with its weapon seemingly getting stuck on the ground, creating a time window for you to attack it freely.
Once you see it perform this attack, dodge the attack, then utilize the time window to hit it with spells and attacks.
The Venom Daoist is quite agile and frequently moves around. The best way to counter this is to simply use Immobilize and Wind Tamer to subdue it and give you a chance to attack freely.
