You can recover Qi in Black Myth: Wukong by fighting enemies and healing at Shrines. Read on for more tips on how to recover Qi, how to reduce the Qi cost of Spirits, and how Qi is used in the game.
List of Contents
If you've used up all your Qi during a battle, you can recover it as you fight enemies or bosses, but it may take some time to fully replenish.
Until you've upgraded your Spirit, you may not earn enough Qi during a boss battle to be able to use it again in that same battle.
Resting at a Shrine restores all your health, mana, and Qi, and it also removes any negative status conditions you may have. This is the fastest way to refill your Qi, so it's a good idea to rest in between battles as much as possible.
If your Qi is full, but you decide to equip a different Spirit, your Qi will empty upon swapping. If you want to change your equipped Spirit before facing a boss, make sure to rest at a Shrine after you equip the new Spirit and before facing the boss.
Spirits can be equipped and changed from the Equipment menu. Any unclaimed Spirits you may have unlocked, such as Wandering Wight if you fought it before getting the Blessed Gourd, can be found in Shrines.
Once you obtain a Spirit, you can go to a Shrine, and select Cultivate Spirits from Self-Advance in order to upgrade it. Upgrading Spirits cost Will, and some upgrades may require items such as Tadpoles for Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang.
You can reduce the Qi cost of using Spirits by upgrading them at least twice.
Qi is consumed when using a Spirit Transformation. You can use Spirits by using the L2 + R2 trigger buttons on a PS5 controller or the F key on a keyboard as long as you have enough Qi.
The amount of Qi you have and your equipped Spirit can be seen on the bottom right, beside the Stance information and Focus meter.
