Bullguard | Guangzhi |
Lingxuzi | Guangmou |
Whiteclade Noble | Black Wind King |
Black Bear Guai | - |
Bullguard's attacks are all heavy, with long intervals between them. Focus on dodging its attacks and counterattacking immediately. The Immobilize spell unlocked in this fight will help you gain an advantage against it.
Bullguard Boss and How to Beat
Guangzhi is a fast-moving boss that can easily punish slow, charged attacks. Instead of charging heavy attacks manually, focus on dodging and using Light Attacks to build up Focus Points. Once you’ve built up enough Focus Points, you can unleash an instant fully-charged Heavy Attack for significant damage.
When Lingxuzi climbs onto the rooftops, stay still and wait for his aerial attack. Dodge at the precise moment.
When Guangmou summons spectral snakes, attempting to perform any combo attack against Guangmou will almost certainly result in being hit by one of these snake's projectiles, staggering you and inflicting Poison. Save your Transform spell for this phase to absorb hits and continue attacking Guangmou without interruption.
The Whiteclad Noble, while difficult to fight, has predictable moves. To defeat him, you need to avoid his attacks and punish his moves. Save your high-impact spells during the second phase as it's the harder section of the fight.
Black Wind King is easier to beat if you obtain the Fireproof Mantle after defeating the secret boss, Elder Jinchi. It's best to keep your distance and dodge his attacks, and save your Transformation and Spirit for the second half of the fight.
Black Bear Guai is the final boss of chapter 1. Equip the Agate Jar curio to help boost your defense, and during the second phase, use the Fireproof Mantle to grant you temporary Burn Immunity.

Wandering Wight | Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang | - |
Defeating Guangxhi, an easier boss nearby, unlocks a transformation that can be useful in fighting the Wandering Wight, thanks to its solid moveset, high damage output, and ability to tank a few hits. The Immobilize spell is an important tool to upgrade as it gives you an opportunity to fight back and another chance to stagger the boss.
Baw-Li-Guhh-Lang is easier to fight by staying in front of it and attacking from there. Its moves when you're in front of it are easier to dodge compared to when you're behind it.
Chapter 1 Secret Bosses | |
---|---|
Elder Jinchi | Red Loong |
Elder Jinchi is a secret boss in this chapter and has several powerful moves that you should avoid as much as possible. Hit his undead minions to heal some health.
At half health, he'll try to absorb his minions to heal himself, so focus on going after those corpses in this phase.
Red Loong is a secret boss in the Forest of Wolves after obtaining the Loong Scales in Chapter 2. Since it's a particularly challenging boss to face, it's advisable to progress through Chapter 2 and acquire some upgrades before attempting this fight.
The pots attached to its back are Red Loong's weak points. Focus on attacking these pots when the boss is staggered or knocked down to deal extra damage.

Second Prince of Flowing Sands | First Prince of the Flowing Sands |
Tiger Vanguard | Stone Vanguard |

How to Beat Second Prince of Flowing Sands
The First Prince of Flowing Sands is a straightforward boss fight with slow or attacks that do not track much. Note that there's an Iron Wall in the arena you can have him ram into to unlock a secret area.
How to Beat First Prince of Flowing Sands
The key to the Tiger Vanguard fight is knowing which attacks you can counter, such as his standing Rock Solid spell and jump attacks.
To dodge the other variation of his Rock Solid spell where he teleports to attack you, move to the walls of the arena so he doesn't spawn behind you.
How to Beat Tiger Vanguard (Crouching Tiger Temple)
The Stone Vanguard boss is a pretty straight forward with predictable attacks. However, watch out for it's delayed area-of-effect attacks the ranged golem summon attack.
Maintain your distance when facing the Gore-Eye Daoist. Using spells like Cloud Step to gain movement speed and evade easily and Immobilize to stun the boss will help greatly in easing the fight.

Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw | Mad Tiger | Earth Wolf |
Mother of Stones | Man-in-Stone | Shigandang |
Yellow-Robed Squire | Fuban | Black Loong |
Tiger's Acolyte | - | - |
Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw is an optional Yaoguai Chief boss found in Sandgate Village, Village Entrance during Chapter 2. This boss uses lightning attacks and likes to counter players with powerful thrusts, tongue whips, and homing attacks.
Immobilize and Violet Hail are great counters for this boss but baiting its attacks and reading its movements are the key to defeating it.
The Mad Tiger is a boss you can fight in the Old Rattle-Drum quest. Try your best to keep your distance when fighting this boss, especially when it roars to cause rocks to fall. When it does combo attacks, you can parry and interrupt by using the Rock Solid spell.
Earth Wolf is fairly straightforward boss. Make sure to clear the boss arena of any lesser yaoguais so you can more easily focus on defeating Earth Wolf.
The Mother of Stones doesn't attack directly. It’s just a large, immobile entity with a health bar. Instead, it continuously summons Lesser Yaoguais to fight on its behalf.
This fight is straightforward and can be won with repeated combo attacks. Man-In-Stone's attacks are easy to dodge and counter.
Additionally, you can cheese him with Pole Stance if you do not want to get any damage. However, this might take time.
Shigandang is a slow, heavy rock boss with predictable attacks due to its sluggish movements. This gives you a significant advantage, as you can easily anticipate its moves and dodge accordingly.
Mastering Shigandang's attack patterns will make dodging and counterattacking more straightforward.
Activate Red Tides to enhance your attacks with Scorch damage. This will cause the boss's HP to gradually decrease as you continue your assault.
How to Beat Yellow-Robed Squire
Fuban frequently performs underground attacks, burrowing beneath the ground and striking from below. While dodging might seem like the right move, it's risky if your timing is off, potentially leading to heavy damage.
Instead, safely avoid these attacks by running away until Fuban surfaces, then counterattack.
How to Beat Fuban and Location
The Black Loong unleashes slow, predictable, but devastating attacks. When it starts smashing its maces to create powerful shockwaves, you can safely avoid the damage by climbing onto the rocks in the arena.
The most important thing to note when fightning the Tiger's Acolyte is you can actually fall off the sides of the bridge and die.
With that in mind, avoid staying near the sides of the bridge or at least be extremely careful when near them as the fight can be over instantly if you fall.

How to Beat Captain Wise-Voice
Kang-Jin Loong is challenging due to her aerial attacks. However, once you deal enough damage, she gets knocked down, giving you a chance to unleash powerful spells and deal significant damage.
Avoid the red puddles Captain Kalpa-Wave leaves behind, as they deal damage over time. The third stomp and slam in its attack patterns are prime opportunities for counterattacks.
How to Beat Captain Kalpa-Wave

Non-Able | Non-Pure | Non-Void |
Captain Lotus-Vision | Captain Void-Illusion | Old Ginseng Guai |
Apramana Bat | Lang-Li-Guhh-Lang | Monk From The Sea |
Yin Tiger | Macaque Chief | - |
Chen Loong has a complex move set that can be challenging to counter. However, this boss is relatively fragile, so don't hesitate to use your spells frequently to overpower and stagger him.
How to Beat Chen Loong and Location
Non-White wields a long blade with significant reach. To counter this, equip the thrust stance and use your own long-range attacks.
In the second battle, Non-White will have new attacks, including an Ice Combo Finisher that launches ice spikes from the ground. It can also inflict poison with some of its attacks, so prepare accordingly.
It's crucial to conserve your mana during the first phase, using none or only minimal spells. Non-Able becomes even stronger in his second phase, and you'll need all the mana you can muster to survive.
In his second form, free from chains, Non-Able gains additional attacks. He can now use his hands to strike, and his movements are much swifter.
Non-Pure’s attacks are all heavy, including his jumping strikes. After each attack, he pauses for a significant time before attacking again.
Although his heavy attacks deal substantial damage, the cooldown period is your opportunity to strike.
Non-Void primarily attacks with magic, only resorting to physical strikes when you're close. The key to this battle is dodging his spells and finding the right moment to counterattack.
If you prefer close combat, be prepared to dodge his swift strikes, as he’s fast and can use Cloud Step to escape your combos.
This boss fight revolves around dodging every projectile Captain Lotus-Vision throws at you and countering with an attack afterward.
Captain Lotus-Vision lacks melee skills and relies solely on magic attacks, which are all easily dodged.
How to Beat Captain Lotus-Vision
Old Ginseng Guai summons smaller ginseng guais. Focus on eliminating these smaller enemies first to avoid distractions and interruptions while focusing on the main boss.
The Apramana Bat is a mobile boss that will keep flying away and do ranged attacks against you. It is best to keep the boss on the ground, close to you as much as possible, with spells.
Lang-Li-Guhh-Lang utilizes ice attacks, so focus on interrupting its attacks by immobilizing it and counter with combos and powerful finishers.
The Monk from the Sea's attacks apply Chill and can freeze you. Dodge its attacks as much as possible to avoid getting frozen.
One strategy you can use to defeat the Yin Tiger is to use Spellseal at the start or before using any other spells since the attack boost is proportional to how much mana you have.
Although it will prevent you from using other spells, having the increased damage will help a lot in depleting the Yin Tiger's HP.
The Macaque Chief is a boss that you would have to fight multiple times throughout the chapter. While its moveset starts off simple, be prepared for more challenging move enhancements in later encounters.

In the first phase, focus on taking down Zhu Bajie quickly by using powerful spells. During the second phase, stay defensive and wait for him to topple over, which will give you an opening to counterattack.
Bring Antimiasma Powders and stay close to Violet Spider to avoid the dangerous projectiles that she fires. Use Cloud Step and Immobilze to reposition and get closer.
The spider sisters will assist you in this fight. Take advantage of their help by stunning the boss with Heavy Attacks and using the Immobilize spell.

Chapter 4 Optional Bosses | ||
---|---|---|
Elder Amourworm | Centipede Guai | Buddha's Right Hand |
Fungiwoman | Yellow Loong | Venom Daoist |
Commander Beetle | Baw-Li-Guhh-Baw | - |
There are 9 Optional Bosses in Chapter 4 with Venom Daoist being fought twice in different locations.
After some of the Elder Amourworm's attacks, it falls face down on the ground for a while, giving you an opening to attack freely.
Utilize this time window when it's face down on the ground to deal as much damage as possible. Just repeat this process to beat the boss with minimal loss.
The Centipede Guai is fairly easy to beat due to its low HP and defenses. Aggressively chaining together spells, vessels, and attacks will quickly melt the boss' HP, especially at the start of the fight.
Buddha's Right Hand has a hand phase and a bug phase which requires repositioning behind the boss, frequent usage of spells, and timed dodges to win the fight.
Be patient in landing hits during the hand phase and use Immobilize when available.
How to Beat Buddha's Right Hand
The Fungiwoman is easy to deflect, stagger, and counter due to her slow movements. Simply use A Pluck of Many and Immobilize when available, dodge as necessary, and execute combos to take her down.
The Yellow Loong has an arsenal of powerful lightning attacks that deals a ton of damage. However, performing those attacks opens the Yellow Loong for retaliation for a short time.
It's best to watch out for its lightning attacks and dodge them as much as possible, then utilize the time window that opens to do damage.
The Venom Daoist is quite agile and frequently moves around. The best way to counter this is to simply use Immobilize and Wind Tamer to subdue it and give you a chance to attack freely.
Moreover, during the first fight with the Venom Daoist, you'll want to make sure that you destroy all of the arms on its back. Doing so will grant you the Venomous Armguard after the fight ends.
Commander Beetle has multiple followers that will attack you during the fight. The best strategy to beat Commander Beetle is to use Pluck of Many to fight the followers while you focus on attacking the boss.
Moreover, when attacking the Commander Beetle, chain together Immobilize, light and heavy attacks, and the Withering Wight spirit attack to quickly deplete its HP. Just get aggressive while your clones are still fighting the followers, and you'll defeat the boss quickly.
Baw-Li-Guhh-Baw spreads poison on the arena which saps Wukong's health away slowly.
Watch your health and heal as needed, then counter by utilizing Immobilize, staggering the boss, and countering with combos that end with powerful finishers.

To easily beat Brown-Iron Cart, go behind the boss and make your way to its left wheel.
Stand on the blind spot near the edge of the cart and keep hitting the boss with staff combos and spells to take it down.
Hide from its ranged fire attack and get to melee range as soon as possible. Execute strings of combos to stagger the boss, Immobilize it, and open up more chances of getting free hits to win the fight easily.
The key to beating this boss is to get close and execute combos to fill up the Staff Gauge, staggering, or using Immobilize to stop its aggression, and using staff combos to deal significant damage.

Pale-Axe Stalwart is a Character boss that utilizes heavy axe swings and charge attacks. Dodge its attacks and utilize staff combos to bring its health down until the boss stops fighting and talks to Wukong.
In the battle against Nine-Capped Lingzhi Guai, constant movement is essential. The boss's attacks leave red trails on the floor that explode after a short time.
If you're still standing on them when they detonate, you'll lose HP. Always stay aware of the red trails and keep moving to avoid damage.
How to Beat Nine-Capped Lingzhi Guai
Flint Chief resides on the lava lake in furnace valley so stay on the rocky sides to avoid burn damage.
Cast Immobilize to keep Flint Chief near the safe areas and use Umbral Abyss to deal fast and heavy damage.
How to Beat Flint Chief
The Flint Vanguard will be summoning yaoguais at the start of the fight so defeat the lesser yaoguais first to make the battle easier.
The Flint Vanguard moves slow but beware its blast AoE whenever it jumps down. Bring Immobilize and take it down whenever it struggles to get back up.
Mother of Flamlings goes untargettable and summons flamlings to help her fight. Prioritize taking them down first to make her appear again and utilize spells while filling up the staff gauge to deal critical damage and win the fight easily.
How to Beat Mother of Flamlings
To quickly defeat Father of Stones, start by using A Pluck of Many to multiply yourself, then immediately cast Immobilize on the boss. Once it's immobilized, unleash a barrage of attacks to deal significant damage.
Don't forget to use your Spirit Skill. Wandering Wight's Spirit can deliver heavy additional damage with each landed hit, potentially ending the battle swiftly or significantly reducing Father of Stones' HP.
How to Beat Father of Stones
Defeat Quick as Fire first before Fast as Wind. Quick as Fire leaves behind a path of fire wherever he rolls and Fast as Wind shoots gusts at the player so make sure to attack in short bursts and do not stay in one place for too long.
Casting Immobilize will prevent Quick as Fire and Fast as Wind from moving and guarantees an easy victory.
How to Beat Quick as Fire, Fast as Wind
Cloudy Mist and Misty Cloud will attack you in turns for most of the battle, but there are some moves where they will attack as a pair. Luckily, you can predict their attack patterns using audio and visual clues.
Defeat Cloudy Mist first since Misty Cloud relies on him for sight. Once Cloudy Mist is defeated, Misty Cloud will be easier to beat since his moves are slower and much more predictable.

Baw-Lang-Lang is a stationary boss with only one exception, its jumping attack. This means that during most of its moves, it remains in place, giving you a prime opportunity to strike.
Your best window to attack is while it's performing its own skills. Use Cloud Step to deploy a decoy, then quickly move behind it to attack.
How to Beat Baw-Lang-Lang
This is a simultaneous boss fight against the two enemies inside the big spinning ball of death. Focus down whichever one doesn't have their shield up to make quick work of this boss fight.

The key strategy is to Immobilize the Supreme Inspector whenever possible. Doing so prevents him from flying and launching aerial attacks.
Keep a close eye on the Immobilize cooldown, and use it immediately when available to keep him grounded.
One of the best strategies is to stunlock the mantis using the Plantain Fan Vessel. Since the battle area is small and enclosed, you can trap the mantis by pushing him against the walls with the fan's hurricane effect.
While he's trapped, use the A Pluck of Many spell to summon clones. With the mantis stunned by the hurricane, you and your clones can unleash a flurry of attacks.
How to Beat Emerald-Armed Mantis

Jiao-Loong of Waves | Yaoguai Chief |
Foothills: Verdant Path |
Chapter 6 features a total of 7 optional boss battles, with Poison Chief being encountered twice.
The best strategy when battling the Giant Shigandang is keeping a safe distance away from it since you can't actually attack it head on and must wait for it to give you an opening.
Keeping a nice, safe distance also makes it easier to avoid getting hit by its attacks since it just stays in one place.
The Jiao-Loong of Waves is quite frail compared to other bosses. Hitting it with heavy attacks knocks it down for a short while, giving you a chance to attack freely. Keep hitting it with heavy attacks to knock it down, then follow up with more damage.
How to Beat Jiao-Loong of Waves
The Son of Stones is a passive boss, peacefully sitting on a cliff and enjoying the air. He will only become hostile if you attack him first.
How to Beat Son of Stones
Evidently, the Poison Chief inflicts the Poison status effect with most of it attacks. Be prepared by bringing Antimiasma Powders or equipping items that boost Poison Resistance.
This boss has an ability that can stun you for a while. It has a roar attack that can stun you when you get in the range.
You can use Cloud Step to get to its back since its roars last for quite some time.
How to Beat Lang-Baw-Baw
The Water-Wood Beast is a large, hippo-like boss with a large hitbox, making it relatively easy to land attacks. However, it can dive underwater to hide and launch surprise attacks.
To counter this, use Immobilize before the boss submerges, and then follow up with additional spells while it's stunned to maximize your damage output.
It's crucial to conserve your mana during the first phase of the fight, using little to no spells. Cloudtreading Deer becomes significantly stronger in the second phase, so you'll need all the mana you can reserve to survive.
During the initial phase, rely on regular attacks and dodges. Given the boss's large size, its hitbox is easy to target. Use the Pillar Stance to avoid ground attacks, and continue this strategy until the first phase is over.
How to Beat Cloudtreading Deer
Black Myth: Wukong features over 90 Boss Battles. Some bosses can only be discovered through specific actions or exploration, and a few will be encountered again later in the game.
