Giant Shigandang Strategy |
---|
|
The best strategy when battling the Giant Shigandang is keeping a safe distance away from it since you can't actually attack it head on and must wait for it to give you an opening. Keeping a nice, safe distance also makes it easier to avoid getting hit by its attacks since it just stays in one place.
The Giant Shigandang has a sweeping attack that it does frequently and deals a ton of damage. The most practical way to avoid getting hit by the sweeping attack is to just keep your distance since the attack doesn't cover the entire arena.
Another attack the Giant Shigandang regularly does is creating shockwaves that cover the entire arena. The simplest way to avoid the shockwave is to jump. However, you do need to time it well since jumping too early or late results in you getting hit, which is keeping a safe distance is important since it gives you time to prepare for it.
One of the Giant Shigandang's special attacks is creating a vacuum using its mouth, pulling in debris and you towards it. Although the attack doesn't deal damage, it does disorient and displace you, which is why keeping a safe distance away from the boss will minimize the danger.
The only way for you to actually hit and deal damage to the Giant Shigandang is by hitting and breaking the blue crystals on its fists. The boss will occasionally pause for a decent amount of time after some of its attacks, exposing its fist and giving you the opening you need to attack.
Once it gives you the opening, try to break the crystals on its fists as fast as possible. Breaking the crystals will deal a massive blow to the boss' HP, which is the only way to defeat the Giant Shigandang.
We highly recommend performing heavy attacks to break the crystals quickly.

Skandha of Consciousness Key Item |
Adaptability alone uncovers significance in subtlety. Once hidden inside the Buddha’s head, this treasure has a secret yet to be revealed. |
After defeating the Giant Shigandang, you need to walk up the boss' arm, which will trigger a cutscene. After the cutscene, you'll obtain the Skandha of Consciousness.
Shigandang was once a mountain deity, accompanied by other rock guais. However, one day, several Buddha heads emerged from the ground and consumed everything in their path.
In an attempt to stop them, Shigandang faced severe consequences for his actions.
In Mount Huaguo, after the birth of the Sage Stone Monkey, the remaining celestial stone continued to absorb the essence of the sun and moon for a thousand years.
Through self-cultivation, it eventually transformed into a yaoguai as large as a mountain, becoming the Giant Shigandang.
