Chapter 4 Secret Area: Purple Cloud Mountain Guide

Defeat The Scorpionlord and Daoist Mi First

We strongly recommend finding and defeating The Scorpionlord and Daoist Mi first before fighting The Duskveil. Starting The Duskveil battle will lock you out of these boss fights since they'll despawn from the area.

Missing out on the two bosses means that you'll miss out on their rewards. Most notably, you'll miss out on the Stained Jade Gourd and Violet Hail Transformation.

How to Beat The Duskveil

The Duskveil Strategy

Let the Duskveil Deal with The Scorpionlord

If you didn't defeat The Scorpionlord first, it will actually appear some time during the first phase of the fight with The Duskveil. The Scorpionlord will only attack The Duskveil and ignore you, and The Duskveil will eventually kill The Scorpionlord.

In this scenario, the best strategy is to just ignore The Scorpionlord and let The Duskveil deal with it. You can also get a few hits in on The Duskveil while it's busy fighting The Scorpionlord.

Punish Its Slow Attacks

The Duskveil has slow attacks, making them easy to read, anticipate, and dodge. A good strategy when fighting The Duskveil head on is to get a few hits in, then dodge its attacks when you see it coming. You can also use spells for more damage.

Move Away When It Summons a Giant Sword

One of The Duskveil's attacks during its second phase is jumping in the air, throwing a giant sword on the ground, landing near the sword, then stomping on it, dealing damage in a wide area.

Once you see the giant sword on the ground, move away far from it immediately, then wait for the boss to finish the attack.

Run Around During Its Aerial Attack

The Duskveil has a special aerial attack it does during its second phase. It levitates in the air, then hurls a barrage of spikes at you.

Once you see it levitate, just run around the area to avoid the spikes until the attack finishes.
