Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast Strategy

Prepare Fireproof Mantle and Body-Cooling Powder in Advance

Black Myth Wukong - Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast - Flames

The Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast not only uses powerful scorch attacks but his boss area is also partially covered in lava. Equipping the Fireproof Mantle will boost your burn resistance and grant immunity over lava-covered terrain.

In addition to the Fireproof Mantle, you should also bring Body-Cooling Powder since getting hit by the Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast's flames will fill your scorch gauge faster than other yaoguai.

Fireproof Mantle Vessel Effects and How to Get

Avoid Staying in Front of the Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast

The Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast is a fast and aggressive boss with a lot of front-facing moves, including a grab which will throw you across the room if you get caught. Avoid staying directly in front of the Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast and attack him from the sides or the back legs. He will need to turn to attack, giving you a short opportunity to dodge when needed.

Dodge Out of Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast's AoE

When the Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast starts to slam his arms into the ground, dodge out of the way to avoid an AoE blast. The Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast will slam the ground twice then, after a short delay, will release a large AoE circle so immediately roll out of the way.

Use Umbral Abyss For Extra Health

De-transforming from your Umbral Abyss form will replenish to whatever your initial health was before your transformation. This means that whatever damage you sustained while under Umbral Abyss can be restarted.

Umbral Abyss' other abilities, like Cold Heart and Cold Resolution, is also useful for attacking and retreating against aggressive enemies like the Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast.

Immobilize When the Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast is Knocked Down

When you land a heavy hit, you may be able to knock the Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast on its back. Use Immobilize to keep him stunned longer, allowing you more time for heavier attacks.

Destroy Ice Wall to Enter Second Arena

Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast - Destroy Ice Wall
If you get the Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast to destroy the Ice Wall in the back of the arena, you can enter it to access the second boss arena and the Ice Phase of this boss. If you don't want to deal with the Fire Attacks and Lava, then this is highly recommended.

Make sure that you also get the Awaken Wine Worm in the next area, otherwise, you'll need to comeback here later after the boss to get it.

Destroy Fire Wall to Enter Third Arena

Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast - Destroy Fire Wall
Once you're in the second area, you can get the Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast to destroy the Fire Wall to unlock the path to third and final boss arena. This will make the boss revert back to its Fire Phase, but this time in a larger and more manageable area.
