Macaque Chief Strategy

Use an Upgraded A Pluck of Many

A Pluck of Many is a powerful offensive spell that you can acquire in Chapter 2. At the start of the fight with the Macaque Chief, cast this spell to summon clones that can deal significant damage. Combine it with spells like Immobilize or Cloud Step to stop the Macaque Chief in its tracks.

The full duration of A Pluck of Many, along with your other spells and attacks, should take down about half of the boss's health.

Don't Fall for the Fake Surrender

The Macaque Chief is a devious opponent who will attempt to trick you by pretending to surrender mid-fight. If it kneels and appears to give up, be prepared for a quick slashing attack. Dodge to the side to avoid getting caught off guard by this deceptive move.

Inflict Scorch and Poison

The Scorch and Poison status ailments are effective ways to significantly reduce any boss's health. You can use the Guangzhi transformation and the Guangmo Spirit Skill to apply Scorch and Poison, respectively.

Watch Out for Its Upgraded Moves for Each Encounter

With each encounter, the Macaque Chief's moveset becomes more dangerous. In the second fight, it begins to enchant its weapon with frost, inflicting the Frost status effect and boosting the power of its slashing attacks.

In the third fight, the Macaque Chief grows wings, becoming significantly more agile and incorporating more acrobatic maneuvers, making its attacks harder to predict and dodge. Be mindful of these enhancements and adjust your strategy accordingly.
