Chapter 1: Black Cloud Red Fire Walkthrough Guide

Get the Loong Scales

Objectives
1 Continue exploring Chapter 2 until you encounter two bosses: King of Flowing Sands and Second Prince of Flowing Sands.
2 After defeating these bosses, proceed to the nearby Valley of Despair Keeper Shrine.
3 From the shrine, head south to find a small cave where you’ll face another boss, the First Prince of Flowing Sands.
4 Don't defeat the First Rat Prince immediately; you'll need him to ram into the wall to crack it, big enough so you can enter the crevice.
If you accidentally defeat the boss before cracking the wall, you can use the Wandering Wight's Spirit Skill to break it yourself.
5 After breaking the wall, proceed through the new area until you find the Loong Scales. This key item is necessary to battle The Red Loong.

Return to the Forest of Wolves

Interact With Waterfall

With the Loong Scales in hand, fast travel back to Chapter 1's Forest of Wolves, Outside the Forest Keeper Shrine. You can do this via fast traveling from the nearest shrine you're at.

Head northwest from the shrine to locate a waterfall. Now that you have the Loong Scales, you can interact with the waterfall, revealing a secret passageway to battle The Red Loong.

The Red Loong Strategy

Extremely Hard During Early Game

Black Myth Wukong - Hard to Defeat

The Red Loong is a secret boss for a reason, it's extremely difficult, especially if you face it early in the game.

It’s recommended to wait until you’re at least halfway through Chapter 2 or even in Chapter 3 before attempting this fight, as you'll be much stronger by then.

Bring Lots of Shock-Quelling Powder

The Red Loong’s element is Electricity, which inflicts Shock damage with every attack.

Make sure to stock up on Shock-Quelling Powder to remove the debuff and keep your HP stable.

Perform Rock Solid During Heavy Attacks

Some of The Red Loong’s attacks are critical and can drain a significant portion of your health, particularly its quick claw and tail strikes.

Use the Rock Solid ability whenever necessary to mitigate damage.

Always Target Its Back

The Red Loong’s weakness lies in the pots and pans on its back. Hitting these will deal extra damage, so prioritize attacking this area.

Additionally, you can take advantage of the Pillar Stance when The Red Loong is knocked down, so you are sure to reach its back due to its long reach and high damage.

How to Change Stances

Use All Spells and Spirits You Have

Defeating the Red Loong will be challenging and may require you to use all your abilities. Don’t hesitate to use your spells and spirits to gain an advantage.

The Wandering Wight spirit is particularly effective against large bosses.
