Badlands (Day) Walkthrough: List of Pokemon and How to Unlock
In the toxic swamp area of the Badlands, wait until Koffing floats near the Crystabloom. This step takes a bit of luck since it relies on the Pokemon's natural pathfinding. There are times that Koffing does not get close enough to the Crystabloom, and you will need to restart the course.
As you enter the toxic swamp area, use your scanner to reveal the Koffing to the right of the path. You may need to scan a few times to get the Koffing to come out. With both Koffing floating around the area near the Crystabloom, there is a greater chance that one will get close enough to it.
Once a Koffing is close enough to the Crystabloom, toss an Illumina Orb at the Crystabloom to make Koffing inflate itself. Capture a photo of the inflated Koffing to fulfill the request.
Completing this request will reward you with the following collectible: Glasses 7.

I had to lure it with FFs after following the instructions several times. Only way it got close enough. Alt route didn’t work for me either (unless you threw FFs)
