Floating in the Air
You can take a 1-Star photograph of Koffing by capturing a photo of it as it floats in the air. We suggest capturing a photo of the Koffing hidden to the right of the acid swamp after revealing it with the scanner. This Koffing floats significantly closer to the player, which allows you to earn more points from your photo.

Feed Koffing Fluffruit
In Badlands (Day), toss a Fluffruit near one of the Koffing in the acid swamp and take a photo as it sucks the fruit into its mouth. You may first need to hit the Koffing with a Fluffruit to get its attention. To get more points from your photo, you can lure the Koffing closer to you with a trail of Fluffruit.

Throw an Illumina Orb after Koffing Eats a Fluffruit
To take a 3 Star photo of Koffing, start Badlands (Day) at Research Level 2. Once you reach the toxic swamp area, feed the Koffing near the Crystabloom with a Fluffruit. After it finishes eating the fruit, throw an Illumina Orb at it and Pokemon will inflate itself.

Gigantic Koffing
To take a 4 Star photo of Koffing, start Badlands (Day) at Research Level 2. As you approach the toxic swamp area, run a scan to reveal the Koffing on the right path. Scanning this Pokemon moves it near the Crystabloom and another Koffing, increasing the chances of obtaining this photo.
Once the Koffing is near the Crystabloom, throw an Illumina Orb at the Crystabloom to make Koffing inflate itself. Take a photo of Koffing overinflated to obtain its 4 Star photo and complete the Gigantic Koffing request.

Bird over 4 yearsFor a 3 star picture of Koffing you need to snap a picture of Koffing being shot out of Swalot’s mouth. It won’t count as a 3 star unless Koffing is midair. It is easier to do from above by taking the alternative path but can be done from either angle. (To get this interaction make sure to hit the Salazzle on top of the volcano so that Koffing flys out towards Swalot)

3 star Koffing can be done at lvl 3, not only lvl 2. I fed it a FF then orb to inflate.
