List of Contents
A merchant is an NPC where you can buy and sell in-game items. But here in D&D: Dark Alliance, there's no option to buy equipment or any items in the game and you can only sell equipment.
However, there are other things that you can do when interacting with the merchant. You can manage your equipment, change equipment's skins, upgrade materials, and upgrade useable.
Buying and selling items is the main task of most merchants in a game. But here in D&D: Dark Alliance, there's no option to buy items and you can only sell equipment, which you get from each mission. Selling your unwanted equipment can be a good source of extra gold.
To sell an equipment, interact with the merchant, which is located near the entrance of the cave. On the merchant's menu, you'll find Manage Equipment on the first tab. In that tab, choose a category and select the equipment that you want to sell.
Once you are sure of the equipment, hold down the Circle Button on the controller to sell it. Take note that this action cannot be undone, make sure that your decision is final before selling your equipment.
In the Manage Equipment tab, you can see all the equipment that you receive from completing a mission and from looting around the dungeon. You can also upgrade and sell your equipment in this section.
Upgrading equipment requires gold and material. Check the right side of the screen to view the upgrading requirements of each piece of equipment.
To upgrade your equipment, select the equipment you want to upgrade and hold down the Square Button on the controller.
If you want more stylish equipment, you can change it by talking with the merchant and going to the Skins tab of the merchant's menu.
Changing the skin of your equipment also requires gold and you'll be charged every time you change it. The good news is, it will only cost you 50 golds per skin.
To change the skin, select the skin you want and hold down the Circle Button on the controller.
Materials are crystal items that you use to upgrade equipment in D&D: Dark Alliance. Each piece of equipment requires a specific type and number of crystals. You can upgrade and downgrade the crystal you have to convert it to whatever type of crystal you need.
The table below lists all the crystals available together with the upgrade and downgrade cost. The cost provided on the table is for each time you upgrade/downgrade a crystal.
To know the exact amount of gold and crystals you need for each process, multiply the cost of the upgrade by the number of times you want to upgrade/downgrade a crystal.
Type | Crystals Needed / Produced | Upgrade Cost | Downgrade Cost |
---|---|---|---|
Common | - | 50 | - |
Uncommon | 10 Common | 150 | 25 |
Rare | 8 Uncommon | 500 | 75 |
Epic | 6 Rare | 1,250 | 250 |
Legendary | 3 Epic | - | 625 |
To upgrade the materials or crystals you have, press and hold the Circle Button on the controller. For downgrading, press and hold the Square Button.
There are different types of useable that you can equip: Potions, Alchemist Fire, and Elixirs. These useables are important as they can help you defeat monsters and progress through a mission.
Potion | Health Potion Stamina Potion Potion of Heroism |
---|---|
Elixir | Elixir of Cleansing Elixir of Resistance Elixir of Elemental Resistance Elixir of Concentration |
Alchemist | Alchemist Fire |
Unlock and upgrade all useable to improve their effects. Unlocking each useable also requires a specific amount of gold, keep on completing missions to earn more gold.
Upgrading useable can be found on the last tab of the merchant's menu. In this section, you'll find all of the available recipes or useable in the game together with the amount of gold required to upgrade each. To upgrade a useable, choose the useable that you want to upgrade and hold down the Square Button on the controller.
