This is a guide to which items to sell in Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition (XC1) for the Nintendo Switch. Read on to learn which items you should sell and know which ones you should keep!

What To Sell

Outdated Weapons and Armour

You will be journeying through harsher areas in the game. Your old gears simply won't cut it, so taking these equipments off and selling them for Gold is often a good choice.

For the most part, you will be okay will just keeping the armour with the highest defence stats and slots (auto-attack and slots for weapons), then selling off the ones with lower stats that no one has equipped. In Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, you can actually select the design of your character's armour/weapons from the list of equipment that you have owned at some point, so if you become attached to a lower level armour because of its looks, you can always just equip an armour with better stats, then go into the Equipment screen, scroll down, then change the looks of the armour your character wears.

Socketless Equipment

You will often get duplicate equipment. They will carry the same stats, but weapons and armors with slots will have better potential than those without any, so you're usually better selling these off. Lower Ranked Crystals and Cylinders

Higher ranked gems will simply prove themselves better than their lower rank counterparts. They can give more stats than their lower ranked brethren for the same socket slot, so selling these crystals would be better than crafting them to a lesser performing gem. Plus, this will greatly free up your inventory space.

Excess Gems

Gems have a limit to the value they can give. If you gotten too craft-happy with agility gems, it might be time to sell off the excess ones instead. Better get some gold than let them gather dust in your inventory! Gems don't typically sell for a lot, but selling them off for some quick gold is still better than having unused gems.
