Riki Introduction

Riki is a fun-loving Nipon from Makna. Riki has a very unique style of speaking, and often serves as comic relief. Although he was chosen as his tribe's hero, apparently this was only to repay his debt to the chief for eating too much food with his family. In battle, he excels in debuffing the enemy and inflicting status ailments.

How to Play Riki

Riki is able to cast a large number of enemy debuffs through his arts (Poison, Blaze, Chill, Bleed), which will slowly drain out their HP. Inflict these four debuffs right away (Lurgy, Bitey Bitey/Burninate, Freezinate in that order). At this point, Say Sorry can be used to remove all four debuffs to deal massive damage to that enemy.

Hero Time can be used to prevent tension from falling, so it is an essential aura for Riki. Roly Poly is a decent Art as well, and can be used to keep foes toppled, but it is not necessary if your other members already have an Art for toppling. Sneaky Sneaky is a pretty good Art, but it should be swapped for Say Sorry after if is learned.

Riki's Talent gauge fills up when he auto-attacks. Using it allows you to steal an item, EXP, or AP from an enemy. For the most part, you should use it anytime it is ready. It is also useful for trying to get a particular rare item from an enemy without killing them.

Vivacity is a good skill set to prioritize initially, but should be switched for Flexibility once his HP maxes at 9999. Gems should enhance his arts, so Recovery Up, Blaze Plus, Chill Plus, Poison Plus, and Ether Up are all solid choices.

Riki as an AI

AI Riki will use Burnitate and Freezinate to inflict Blaze/Chill on foes, as well as Poison with Lurgy. You Can Do It is one of the best Healing Arts in the game, so make sure it is set, and Riki will heal your teammates when their HP is low enough, so be sure and level it up as well.

Riki will use Happy Happy at the start of battle, granted his Tension is high, so make sure to time the B-press correctly when initiating battle. Roly-Poly is another skill that can topple enemies, so set it if you don't have Reyn or Dunban in your team. Bitey Bitey will be his best option for quick damage.
