How to Use Battle Soul

Simply select it and activate it, and then you should do an animation. A red number will pop up indicating how much damage was done and your middle Talent Gauge will be filled up. This is useful particularly to activate skills that only work in lower HP, or against opponents you always miss against (like Telethias that haven't been Purged).

Additionally, if Light Heal has been leveled up high enough. using it after Battle Soul restores the health lost.

Battle Soul is worth leveling up

This is generally a great Art that is useful in several builds, so we recommend setting it and leveling it up. This Art is one of Shulk's better Arts, and if you have extra AP, you can't go wrong spending it on this one. It's worth it because of how quickly you can fill up the talent gauge and use the Monado Arts.
