Found at Goldblossom Mines
The Hound can be found within the Goldblossom Mines, and is fought during the main quest Hostilities With The Hound.
To fight The Hound again, simply interact with the violet orb in the boss arena to initiate the rematch.
Cannot be Befriended
The Hound is a unique Boss that cannot be befriended. Befriending The Hound from this encounter in the Goldblossom Mines is impossible, similar to attempting to befriend other Tagesanbruch bosses.

The Suigetsu is a short sword with high attack power and water attack, which works effectively against The Hound, since it has a weakness to Short Swords.
Bringing the Moonlight & Shadow as a secondary weapon allows you to deal damage to The Hound with fast attacks, providing a decent weapon alternative utilizing Light Attacks.

The Summer Hairpin, Heavenly Knotted Pauldron, and Ring of Repose are all equipment that can be crafted from recipes found before fighting The Hound.
Equipping all three increases your defensive stats, allowing you to tank more hits before needing to heal while fighting against The Hound.

Bringing a team consisting of Cuilang, Hisui, and Ulalaka for your first team gives you a defensive team, allowing you to survive The Hound's attacks easier while he is not stunned.
Once The Hound is stunned, switch to Matsuri, Subaru, and Fubuki, who will provide an offensive boost, allowing you to deal more damage while The Hound is stunned.

Upgrade Short Sword and Sacred Staff Skills
Upgrading your Short Sword and Sacred Staff Skills is a great way to make the boss battle easier.
For the Short Sword, try to prioritize Charge Attack, and Ultimate Attack nodes. For the Sacred Staff, unlocking both Staff Dances should be your priority.
Use Sacred Staff Attacks
If you have the means to consistently restore RP, you can repeatedly use the Staff Attacks to quickly fill up the Boss' stagger meter.
Bring Lots of Recovery Items
The Hound has very powerful attacks, and coming underleveled and unprepared can make the fight significantly harder.
Stock up on healing and food items by purchasing or cooking before challenging the boss!
Use Staff Dance Stances When Stunned
During the The Hound boss fight, you can use Staff Dance Stances once it's stunned to deal more damage.
Ideally, your goal is to build 2 charge bars using attacks before the boss is stunned. Once it's stunned, use up all your charge bars by performing both Staff Dances, to deal massive amounts of damage quickly.
Aim for Perfect Dodge
Performing a Perfect Dodge gives you a brief window of opportunity where the monster is slowed, allowing you to freely perform your combos.
During the The Hound boss fight, perfect dodges are more important compared to previous boss fights, since its attacks deal significantly more damage, and has shorter wind-up times.
