Sakuna is a free downloadable villager in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma (RFGoA). See how to download the free Sakuna DLC and how to unlock her.
How to Download Sakuna
Select Downloadable Content on the Title Screen
Start Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma and choose Downloadable Content on the Title Screen.

Scroll down on the game's product page until you reach the DLC section. Choose the free Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin Bundle DLC and download it for free. Make sure to close the game after so that it can be downloaded.
If you are playing the Steam version, go to the game's store page and scroll down under "Content For This Game" to find the DLC.
Notification appears on the title screen after downloading the DLC
Once it finishes downloading, you will receive a notification on the title screen indicating that DLC has been added to the game.
How to Unlock Sakuna
- Reach the Autumn Village
- Complete Mikoshi Hunt
- Accept A Farmhouse for a Princess Request on the Request Board
- Place the Farmhouse at the Autumn Village
Reach the Autumn Village
To add Sakuna as a villager, you need to progress the main quest until you reach the Autumn Village. You can head to the Autumn Village once you receive the Info on the God of Autumn main quest.
Walkthrough and Complete Story Guide
Complete Mikoshi Hunt
You need to complete the Mikoshi Hunt main quest and defeat the Big Boss Tanuki at the Mechanical Maze.
DLC Notification will appear after beating Big Boss Tanuki
After completing Mikoshi Hunt, you will receive a notification that installing the Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin Bundle adds new quests on the request board.
Accept the A Farmhouse for a Princess Request on the Request Board
Go to the Request Board and accept A Farmhouse for a Princess request to receive the Farmhouse building for free.
Place the Farmhouse at the Autumn Village
Head to the Autumn Village's Dev Zone and place the Farmhouse. Sakuna will join as a villager afterward.
Make sure that the Farmhouse is in the Autumn Village as Sakuna will not appear as a villager if it is placed on a different village. Be careful not to demolish the building as well as she will be removed from the village and from your party.
Is Sakuna Romanceable?
Sakuna is Not a Romanceable Character
Sakuna is not a romanceable character in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma. In addition, there are no options to chat or to hangout with her as she functions the same way as the recruitable NPC villagers.

Sakuna Cannot Equip Weapons and Armor
Note that Sakuna cannot equip any weapons and armor unlike the characters that can be added to the party. She only has an Iron Hoe as a default weapon and does not have any headgear, pauldron, and accessory.
