How to Get Magatamas
Complete Winter Village Revived 1
To get access to magatamas, you first need to progress through the Winter Village's story and complete Winter Village Revived 1, right after defeating the White Wolf boss.
Zaza will then speak to you and talk about magatamas, where she'll tell you that these are used to make your equipment better.
Defeat Jewelsqueaks
Defeating Jewelsqueaks will get you more magatamas, so you can equip it on other weapons, including those used by your party members.
You can find Jewelsqueaks at the Forgotten Grove. You can also tame them and put them in a barn to get a steady supply of magatamas.

How to Equip Magatamas
Speak to Zaza in Winter Village
To equip magatamas, you need to speak to Zaza the blacksmith in Winter Village.
Upon speaking to her, select 'Upgrade' then select 'Equip magatama'. You will then see a list of all of your weapons that can hold magatamas. Select the weapon you want and select the magatama you want to equip.
You Can Also Talk to Blacksmiths
You may also talk to any villagers that are assigned at Blacksmith buildings to equip magatamas. Do note that only villagers with the Journeyman Smith quality can be assigned at Blacksmiths.
Speak to Hisui in Summer Village for Talismans
If you want to equip magatamas for talismans, you have to speak to Hisui in the Summer Village.
Talk to Hisui and choose 'Enhance talismans', then select 'Equip magatama'. Similar to Zaza, you will also see a list of talismans that can hold magatamas.
How to Add Magatama Slots
Speak to Zaza or Hisui
If you want to add more magatama slots on a weapon, or if you want to add one for those that do not, speak to Zaza or any Blacksmith-assigned villagers and select 'Add magatama slots'. You need a Crimson Jewel to add a magatama slot on a weapon.
If you want to add slots for talismans, you also need to speak to Hisui in the Summer Village, as Zaza or Blacksmiths cannot work on talismans.

What are Magatamas?
Equippable Beads that Give Stat Bonuses
Magatamas are equippable beads that give weapons or armor additional stats. These are useful to get more buffs to your kit.
Weapons and armor that can hold magatamas have gray circle on the lower right side of their icons.
