Submit a Curry Pilaf or a leveled up curry dish to win the Curry Contest in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma (RFGoA). Read on for a guide to the Curry Contest, tips on how to win the contest, and the dishes that can be submitted for this contest.

How to Start the Curry Contest

Talk to Sakaki to Start the Contest
Go to the God Shrine at Spring Village between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM and talk to Sakaki. There will be a lot of people in front of the shrine, so you may want to pass through the back or go around the crowd.
If you do not talk to Sakaki before 9 AM, the contest will be cancelled automatically.
Talk to Sakaki Again to Submit a Curry
When you're ready to submit a curry dish, talk to Sakaki again. Your inventory will open, showing all the items that you can enter. Select your desired curry dish to submit it for the contest. Take note that the item you select will be removed from your inventory.
Ulalaka will then judge your work, and you will be given a score depending on the dish you submitted. You have until 7:00 PM to submit your chosen item.
If you do not have an eligible dish on hand, you can cook at any teahouse, izakaya, fireplace, or bonfire.

Submit Curry Pilaf
Curry Pilaf appears to be the curry dish that gives the highest number of points. Even at just Lv. 1, it can allow you to win the contest with 510 Pts.
However, the recipe for Curry Pilaf may take a while to acquire. It is available as a reward for finding 130 Frog Statues in the Frog Statue Fanatic Azuma quest. You can claim this reward by talking to Croakie beside the Spring Village request board once you've discovered enough Frog Statues.

The higher the dish level you submit, the more points you can get. However, for eligible curry dishes, there aren't a lot of leveled ingredients to work with. The main ingredient you should focus on leveling up is Steamed Rice, an ingredient common to all eligible dishes.
This means that you have to use Steamed Rice that you've cooked instead of relying on purchased Steamed Rice. The Steamed Rice you cook should be made with Rice that has been leveled up so that the resulting dish would also be a higher level.
How to Change Ingredient Levels
By default, cooking will use the lowest level of the ingredient that you have. However, you can change this by pressing the button for Change Materials.
Select the ingredient you want to modify. Remove the currently selected ingredient variant by making the amount 0, then set the amount for the ingredient with the level you want.

Only non-unique dishes with Curry Powder and Steamed Rice as ingredients are eligible for the Curry Contest. Despite being curry dishes, Curry Udon and Curry Croquettes cannot be entered into the Curry Contest.
Unique curry dishes made by cooking together with specific characters, such as Kotaro's Pom Curry and Zaza's Anvil Curry, also are not allowed in the Curry Contest.
Curry Contest Rewards
Tiger Scroll
If you manage to get first place in the Cooking Contest, you will be given a Tiger Scroll as a reward. Using this item alloys you to get 50 EXP.
How to Level Up Fast: XP Farming Guide
Ingredients or Curry Bread
You can also receive Curry Powder if you win the Cooking Contest.
If you do not place 1st, you may be given Curry Bread or other cooking ingredients such as Ginger.
Increased Happiness and Gold
Completing the Curry Contest will increase your Village Happiness, as well as reward you with Gold based on your placement in the contest.
