Yes, You Can Have Children After Marriage

Proposal to Have a Kid

After marrying your partner, you will be asked about having a child five days after your marriage. Accept this proposal and wait for five days.

How to Get Married

Choose Your Child's Gender and Personality

Choosing Child

Once five days have passed, Woolby will transport you and your spouse to the Fateweaver Shrine. This is where you will learn of the pregnancy, and you will be asked to choose your child's gender and personality.

Same Sex Couples Can Also Have Children

For same sex couples, you will be prompted to plant a seedling behind the shrine in place of a pregnancy, where you will also be asked to choose your child's gender and personality.

5 Years Will Pass After the Child's Birth

5 Years Will Pass After the Child
Five days after your last visit to the Fateweaver Shrine, your child will be born and will be given a default name that you can change.

After the initial cutscene, there will be a 5 year timeskip and your baby will immediately grow up to be a little kid. They will also be added as one of the characters that you can bond with in the village and can be added in your party to fight.

Second Child Will Be Born The Next Season

Second Child Fateweaver Shrine Visit

You can have up to 2 children in Guardians of Azuma. After your first child is born, your spouse will inquire about having another child the next season after your first's birthday.

If you accept, you will proceed to the Fateweaver Shrine with your spouse and child to receive its blessing. You will undergo through the same process as before, but with additional scenes featuring your first kid.

Appearance and Default Name are Determined by Personality

The table below shows the default names and personalities of the player character's possible children. The personality is chosen as a dialogue option during the second visit to the Fateweaver Shrine once you learn about the pregnancy.

What Does Having Children Do?

Unlocks Secret Postgame Quest

Forest of Endings

Two days after your child's birthday, you will unlock the A Heart Fragmented postgame quest. This storyline will require you to travel to the Forest of Endings where you will face against level 100+ monsters and bosses and collect high level gear.

You can also recruit your child into your party. Each child will have different party roles depending on their personality, and all will start at level 65.
