| 1 | Talk to Sakaki to start the contest. |
| 2 | Talk to Sakaki again to submit a crop. |

Go to the God Shrine at Spring Village between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM and talk to Sakaki. There will be a lot of people in front of the shrine, so you may want to pass through the back or go around the crowd.
If you do not talk to Sakaki before 9 AM, the contest will be cancelled automatically.
When you're ready to submit the item you've grown, talk to Sakaki again. Your inventory will open, showing all the items that you can enter. Select your desired crop to submit it for the contest. Take note that the item you select will be removed from your inventory.
Ulalaka will then judge your work, and you will be given a score depending on the type of crop you submitted. You have until 7:00 PM to submit your chosen item.
If you want to get first place but aren't sure which of your crops is good enough, make sure to save before submitting your item to Sakaki.

The items you submit for the Harvest Contest are judged based on the type of crop, their growing time, and their level. In order to win the Harvest Contest, you must submit a crop that has been leveled up.
If you're not submitting a giant, golden, or late game crop, you may need to submit a level 8, 9 or 10 crop in order to get first place.
How to Increase Crop and Seed Levels
Since Turnips are the easiest crops to grow, they don't give many points even at high levels. Crops with short growing times also provide less points. It's best to select a crop with a longer growing time or one that is only unlocked later on in the game such as Pineapples and Pink Melons.

If you submit a giant crop that is at least level 2, you will most likely win the contest. Giant crops give a large amount of points because of their rarity.
Make sure you check your Shipping Shed every day in case your villagers harvest giant crops without your knowledge.

Golden crops are difficult to find, so they also provide a large amount of points. You will still need to level it up if you want to get 1st place.

If you manage to get first place in the Harvest Contest, you will be given the Valuable Medal. This is a commemorative item that can be sold for money.
Completing a contest regardless of your placement will increase your village happiness.
How to Increase Village Happiness
The Harvest Contest will also generate profits. The higher your placement, the more money you will earn.
You may also recieve a random reward that can be used in farming such as seeds, Field Tiles, and soil.
