How to Craft Pauldrons

Find Recipes Through Wayside Shrines, Frog Statues, and Hangouts

Interact with Frog Statues

Pauldron recipes can be mainly obtained by interacting with Wayside Shrines, and Frog Statues. These can be found all over Azuma and are marked with an icon on the map.

You can also obtain special armor recipes from romance candidates after reaching Bond Level 3 or 4.

Craft a Blacksmith in Your Village

Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma - Build a blacksmith

Blacksmiths will become available after completing the Blacksmith Brouhaha 2 quest during the Spring Village story. You will need to construct a Blacksmith building to be able to forge new weapons and armor.

Only Villagers with the Journeyman Smith Quality Can Become Blacksmiths

Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma - Assign Kihachi

Villagers with the Villager Quality Journeyman Smith are the only ones who can become Blacksmiths. Even if they have a Trader quality, regular villagers cannot run a Blacksmith.

To get new villagers to move in, you will need to level up your Village or evict Slacker villagers.

Armor Can Be Upgraded at the Blacksmith

Upgrade Weapons

You can strengthen armor stats by upgrading them in the Blacksmith. This way, even armor that was obtained early on can still be powerful.
