By improving your stats, you can increase your combat efficiency in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma (RFGoA). Read on to learn more about what each stat does and how to raise them!

Attack (ATK)
Attack (ATK) refers to the damage dealt against enemies. Improving the Attack stat will increase the amount of damage a character deals and will make it easier to defeat larger enemies.
Defense (DEF)
Defense (DEF) is linked to resistance and how much damage a character can withstand. Increasing the Defense stat will reduce how much HP is lost from opposing hits.
Magic Attack (M.ATK)
Magic Attack (M.ATK) relates to the damage dealt by Sacred Treasures and other weapons that can deal elemental damage. Improving Magic Attack will let you deal greater damage dealt using magic-based weapons.
Magic Defense (M.DEF)
Magic Defense (M.DEF) is linked to defense against magic attacks. Increasing the Magic Defense stat will reduce the amount of elemental damage taken from enemies who wield magic.
Critical Rate (CRT%)
Critical Rate (CRT%) affects the likelihood of dealing lethal damage against enemies. Increasing the Critical Rate will increase how often a character will land massive damage.
Strength (STR)
Strength (STR) is a Village Bonus which can boost the Attack (ATK) stat. If you place down decorations or buildings with STR bonuses like the Shrine or Underworld Tower, you can greatly improve the amount of damage you deal against foes.
Vitality (VIT)
Vitality (VIT) is a Village Bonus that buffs the Defense (DEF) stat. Placing down buildings or decorations like the Exotic Storehouse or Exotic Sculpture can greatly boost your physical defenses.
Intelligence (INT)
Intelligence (INT) is a Village Bonus that improves the Magic Attack (M.ATK) stat. Buildings or decorations like the Heavenly Tower or Wooden Stairs can boost the elemental damage you inflict against enemies.
Mind (MND)
Mind (MND) is a Village Bonus that elevates the Magic Defense (M.DEF) stat. Buildings or decorations like the Modern Streetlamp can boost your defenses against magical or elemental damage.
How to Raise Stats
Leveling Up
Stats can be naturally raised by leveling up. You can level up by completing quests, and doing daily activities such as walking, shopping, farming, defeating enemies, fishing, and participating in contests.

Equip Weapons and Gear
Getting better weapons and gear can also improve your stats. Take note of the blue tag underneath the weapon name to see which stats will be affected by the equipment.
Upgrade Equipment
You can also increase stats by raising the level of your equipment through the Blacksmith. Upgrading equipment will cost gold and materials.
Improve Village Bonuses
Placing down buildings and decoration can grant Village Bonuses which coincide with your stats:
- Strength (STR) improves Attack (ATK)
- Vitality (VIT) improves Defense (DEF)
- Intelligence (INT) improves Magic Attack (M.ATK)
- Mind (MND) improves Magic Defense (M.DEF)
