Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma (RFGoA) has three difficulty options that change how easy or hard battles are. Find out the differences between all game difficulties and learn the best option to choose for your playstyle!
List of Contents
| Difficulty | Details |
|---|---|
| Story | ・Focus on the plot while fighting easier battles. |
| Balanced | ・The intended experience. |
| Hard | ・Test your mettle against stronger enemies. |
Before you begin the game, you will be prompted to choose a difficulty option. The main difference between the available difficulties are how challenging battles are; other game features, such as farming and village building, are not affected by game difficulty.
You have an option to change the game's difficulty after starting a save file if you find battles too easy or too difficult for your liking. You can change the difficulty by pausing the game, choosing 'Options', and navigating under 'Settings' to find the difficulty options.

Story difficulty is recommended for players who are not used to action-heavy gameplay, as battles in the game can get too overwhelming for those not used to combat.
This option is also best for those who only want to enjoy the game's story and prefer through breeze through battles.

Balanced difficulty is great for casual players who wants to enjoy the story while still getting some challenge in battles. You can choose this difficulty if you want to experience the game as intended.

Hard difficulty is an option for those who enjoy facing challenging enemies in battles. Those who are used to action-heavy games can choose this difficulty.
