Progressing through the story will unlock a variety of features for you to use. As you go through the game, you will get access to new villages and Sacred Treasures, which can be useful for combat and farming.
You will also meet more characters and recruit villagers as you go through the game, who can join your party and help you with your farming tasks.
Walkthrough and Complete Story Guide

Managing your villages and farms is an important part of your gameplay loop, as you need to keep things running not just for you but also for villagers who are helping you run things. This will also help increase the Village Level of an area, which is beneficial for everyone.
Early on, you will grow and harvest crops on your own, but once you meet villagers and assign them on your farm, they will be able to do all the tedious work for you. Even so, you still need to manage your farms from time to time.

If you are planning to only stay within the village for the day, you can perform Drum Dances to accelerate the growth of your crops and trees in your farm. This will let you yield crops faster which can mean more profit as time goes on.
Additionally, this will also revive any withered crops which can help you avoid wasting materials.
Do note that Drum Dances consumes Rune Points and will only work on crops once per day. The range is also limited, so make sure to reach as many tiles as possible.
Best Sacred Drum Skills and How to Use

Even though your villagers can do farm work for you, it can still be useful get extra materials on your own so you can get a steady supply of items that you may need.
While strolling around the map, try to sweep leaves, mine ore deposits, chop wood from fully grown trees to get lumber and saplings, and defeat enemies. These respawn regularly, so you do not need to worry about running out of sources in the long run.
When interacting with trees and ores, you can hold down the button while gathering resources; you don't need to mash the button!

As you meet more characters and recruit them to join your party, remember to frequently interact with them so you can raise your Bond Level with them. You can ask them to hangout with you or just brush up with a chat every day.
This will let you get Bond Bonuses with these characters, which grant stat and battle skill boosts, or receive presents from them.
Furthermore, certain characters may also have personal requests which you can complete to get more rewards and raise your Bond Level with them.
Villagers may post ema plaques on the request board, which serve as side quests that you can complete to get rewards and materials.
You can include checking the request board as a part of your daily routines so you can accept any requests as they are posted.

Apart from using them to purchase items from shops, gold is also needed to keep the villagers working on your farm fed and happy. Running out of gold will make them unhappy which may prompt them to leave your farm.
A steady way to get gold is to sell crops harvested in your farm at the shipping shed. You can also assign trading jobs to your villagers to earn some extra income for your farm.
If the crops that the villagers are harvesting are not covering the required expenses for a farm, try adding more items to sell in your shipping shed.
Gold Farming Guide and What to Sell

You can rematch any boss that you have defeated before if you visit the area where you beat them.
Once you defeat them again, you can get Rich Soil and Red Soil which are needed to craft tiles for your farm, along with some experience points which can help you level up quickly.

Sleeping in your bed at the dragon shrine will end an in-game day, which will save your progress and move the calendar forward.
