How to Tame a Boss

Go to Boss Location to Rematch

Boss Rematch

You can always rechallenge old Boss Fights anytime. If you visit a boss area after you have defeated its boss, you will be able to interact with a purple orb which will give you the option to relive the battle.

Use Dance of Bonds and Gift Favorite Item

Taming Bosses

Bosses can also be tamed the same way with regular monsters.

To tame bosses, bring its HP down and perform the Plum Branch's Dance of Bonds, then defeat it by knocking it down.

Once you can interact with it, give the boss its favorite item. You have three chances to gift the correct item or the dance will wear off and you will not be able to tame the boss.

You can also send it back to the Forest of Beginning if you want to cancel your attempt in taming the boss.

Not All Bosses Can Be Tamed

Comparing Tengu to White Wolf

Not all bosses that you encounter can be befriended. Some Bosses like the Great Storm Tengu which only appear through the story cannot be tamed.

You can find out if a Boss is tameable by checking the Beastiary where it will list which monsters can be befriended.
