How to Hold Contests
Check Ledger Near the Village God Shrine
To schedule a contest for a village, head to any village god shrine and look for a ledger near the shrine door. This ledger will be placed in all shrines of the villages.
Schedule Contest During a Weekend
Interact with the ledger to view a calendar of when you can hold a contest. You can only schedule a contest on a weekend, so try to figure out your plans for the next weeks so you won't miss participating.
You can schedule a contest within a respective village from any village; you do not need to currently be in the village of where you want a contest to be held.
Contest Rewards
Gold
The main reward for holding contests is gold, as you can easily get a couple thousand from participating in these contests.
Village Happiness
Holding contsts will also raise the happiness of the village where the contest is held. If you have any villages that are suffering from low happiness, try holding a contest to improve this stat.
Dishes and Items
You can also get several items, like dishes and Valuable Medals, as additional rewards after participating in a contest.
How to Win Each Contest
Catch the Most or Biggest Fish in Fishing Contests
Fishing contests require you to either catch the biggest fish or get the most catches during the competition.
All you need to do during these contests is to keep fishing until you are confident with your score.
Bring High-Level Dishes for Item Contests
For contests that require you to submit a dish, try to make a high-level dish using high-level ingredients to gain a high score during the judging part of the competition.
You can prepare the required item before the contest, but if you're not able to prepare one, you can still use the rest of the time to make the winning dish, but make sure to submit it before the contest ends.

For the Quick Meal Contest I went with a Jumbo Sushi Roll. It was very easy to get my Rice leveled up to Lvl.5, I cooked a couple Steamed Rice until I got a Lvl. 6 Steamed Rice. And having a Cluckadoodle give me a Lvl. 5 Small Egg, I was easily able to make a Lvl. 6 Jumbo Sushi Roll that won with over 1,000 pts. For the Harvest Festival remember to check your shipping bin every night before going to bed. Giant Crops will sometimes show up in there. I was able to win with a Lvl. 1 Doom Pumpkin.
