Fight tough enemies and rematch bosses to level up fast in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma (RFGoA). Read on to learn the best ways to earn XP in the game, and learn more about the different experience points you can get!

You can level up quickly if you focus on defeating multiple enemies that have the same or higher level than your character. Even within the same village, tougher enemies can appear early on depending on where they are on the map, so try going around areas where high-level enemies are found.

| Lv. 15-20 | ![]() Limestone Caverns |
| Lv. 20-25 | ![]() Riverside Bridge Area |

Once you defeat a boss, you can fight it again once a day at the same area where you first fought them. Bosses give more experience when defeated compared to regular enemies, so it is recommended to rematch them every day.

You can also use Tiger Scrolls and Kirin Scrolls to quickly get experience points. Each scroll gives a certain amount of XP, so it can be handy to use these scrolls on a character that you have just recruited to quickly level them up.

Contests are village competitions that you can set up during a holiday. Participating in these contests will grant you some experience points at the end of the day, so try to schedule contests every week.
Contests Guide: How to Win Each Contest
You can get XP penalties for fainting or staying up late at night. You will get deductions from the daily summary and lose XP, so try not to get defeated by enemies or staying up late outside.

You can check how many experience points you need to level up in the Gear menu found in the pause menu. You can also view the current level and experience points of any party member that you are exploring with.
All-Purpose XP are experience points which are gained everytime you end the day and sleep. These come from daily activities like walking, shopping, harvesting crops, fighting enemies, fishing, and participating in contests.
These are used to unlock nodes on any skill tree.
Skill Tree-Specific XP are experience points that are obtained everytime you do an action tied to a specific activity that has a skill tree.
For example, Drum Dance XP is obtained from using the Sacred Drum when farming or during combat.
