How to Clear Flickering Flames
Toss Illumina Orbs at Gardevoir Throughout Winter
Start Forest at Research Level 3. Take the first alternate route and then throw an Illumina Orb at the Espeon to enter the Winter area.
The first few steps is similar to the one for the Winter Wonders request. While in the Winter area, you need to throw Illumina Orbs at Gardevoir for her to teleport throughout the area.
See the table below to see all of Gardevoir's locations.
| 1 | Enter the Winter area of the Forest. Gardevoir will appear in front of two Deerlings. Throw an Illumina Orb at her. |

| 2 |  Look at the tree with an Unfeznant on top and watch as Gardevoir teleports on the tree. Throw an Illumina Orb at her again. |
| 3 |  Look in front to see Gardevoir teleporting on the ground. Do not throw any Illumina Orbs at this point. Instead, wait for her to perform for the two Deerlings and teleport away. At this point, Ninetales should be nearby overlooking your interactions with these Deerling. |
Feed then Interrupt the Deerling
Once the Gardevoir teleports away, lead the Deerling closer to the Ninetales with Fluffruit.
As one of them is munching on the fruit, hit it with a Fluffruit to interrupt him. This will scare Deerling away, but also upset the Ninetales who has been observing you.
The Ninetales should step down from his ledge at this point.
Toss an Illumina Orb at Ninetales then Hit It with a Fluffruit
With the Ninetales down from its ledge, provoke it more by throwing an Illumina Orb, then hit it with a Fluffruit.
This should bring it to the point where it will intimidate you by casting a Will-O-Wisp into the air. Take a photo of this moment and submit it to the professor to complete this quest.
